Abstract
COVID-19 in Indonesia led to the Imposition of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions, which regulates companies that are not in the essential sector, so that all employees work from home. In carrying out work with the Remote Working system, employees perform virtual communication to communicate with co-workers. After the situation returns to normal, there are companies that continue to apply the Remote Working system. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of Remote Working virtual communication on employee performance at PT Mediawave Interaktif. The variables of this research are, Virtual Remote Working Communication (X) as the independent variable and the dependent variable is the performance of PT Mediawave Interaktif's employees (Y). This variable has several sub-variables, namely virtual communication (Email, WhatsApp and Video conference) according to Effendi (2010). As well as employee performance with sub-variables (Quality, Quantity, Timeliness, Cost Effectiveness, and Individual Relations) according to Bernadin & Russel (2006). The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability sampling or saturated sample, the number of samples is 66 employees of PT Mediawave Interaktif. The method used is an explanatory survey and a quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used is validity test & reliability test, as research instrument testing, simple linear regression test, correlation test, coefficient of determination test and t test, as hypothesis test. The value of the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.203 so it can be seen that the effect of virtual communication on employee performance is 20.3%. In the results of the t test, the variable coefficient value is 0.394 with a significant value of 0.001. The results showed that the variable X Virtual Communication iRemote Working had a positive and significant effect on variable Y employee performance of PT Mediawave Interaktif. COVID-19 di Indonesia menyebabkan Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat Darurat, yang mengatur perusahaan yang bukan sektor esensial, agar seluruh karyawannya bekerja dari rumah. Dalam menjalankan pekerjaan dengan sistem Remote Working atau jarak jauh, para karyawan melakukan komunikasi virtual untuk berkomunikasi dengan rekan kerja. Setelah situasi berangsur normal, ada perusahaan yang tetap memberlakukan sistem Remote Working tersebut. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh komunikasi virtual Remote Working terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT Mediawave Interaktif. Variabel penelitian ini adalah, Komunikasi Virtual Remote Working (X) sebagai variabel independen serta variabel dependen yaitu kinerja karyawan PT Mediawave Interaktif (Y). Variabel tersebut memiliki beberapa sub variabel yaitu Komunikasi virtual (Email, WhatsApp dan Video conference) menurut Effendi (2010). Serta kinerja karyawan dengan sub variabel (Kualitas, Kuantitas, Ketepatan Waktu, Efektivitas Biaya, dan Hubungan Perseorangan) menurut Bernadin & Russel (2006). Teknik sampling yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu non-probability sampling atau sampel jenuh, jumlah sampel 66 orang karyawan PT Mediawave Interaktif. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survei eksplanatif dan pendekatan kuatitatif. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah uji validitas & uji reliabilitas, sebagai pengujian instrumen penelitian, uji regresi linear sederhana, uji korelasi, uji koefisien determinasi dan uji t, sebagai uji hipotesis. Adapun nilai dari uji koefisien determinasi (R2) yaitu sebesar 0.203 sehingga dapat diketahui bahwa pengaruh komunikasi virtual terhadap kinerja pegawai sebesar 20,3%. Pada hasil uji t memperoleh nilai koefisien variabel 0.394 dengan nilai signifikan 0.001. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel X Komunikasi Virtual Remote Working berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel Y Kinerja karyawan PT Mediawave Interaktif. Kata Kunci: Elemen Komunikasi, Komunikasi Virtual, Remote Working, Kinerja Karyawan.
