Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify waste in the process flow, identify the types of waste and provide appropriate improvement suggestions to achieve effective lead times in the process of sending Komatsu group goods via air cargo. To reduce the waste that occurs, a lean service approach is used with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method as a process, material and information flow mapping in order to identify E-DOWNTIME waste problems, using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method to determine the causal factors and eliminate activities which causes waste and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to find out the highest RPN value which then becomes a priority for providing appropriate improvement proposals and in accordance with the problems and conditions at PT Yamato Indonesia Forwarding at the Air Export Department. The results of this study are non-value added activities of 519.420 seconds or 39.44% of the overall processing time, there are types of waste, namely excess processing, waiting, transportation, and motion as well as the implementation of continuous improvement. By using this method, the PCE value is 51.51% so that the delivery process of the Komatsu group can be said to be lean and the lead time decreased to 8.5 days from the target given for 14 days. Keywords: Lean Service, Forwarder, VSM, RCA, FMEA, Lead Time Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi pemborosan (waste) pada aliran proses, mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis pemborosan (waste) serta memberikan usulan perbaikan yang tepat untuk mencapai lead time yang efektif pada proses pengiriman barang komatsu group melalui cargo udara. Untuk mengurangi waste yang terjadi digunakan pendekatan lean service dengan metode Value Stream Mapping (VSM) sebagai pemetaan aliran proses, material dan informasi guna mengidentifikasi permasalahan E-DOWNTIME waste, penggunaan metode Root Cause Analysis (RCA) untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab dan menghilangkan aktivitas-aktivitas yang menyebabkan pemborosan (waste) dan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) untuk mengetahui nilai RPN tertinggi yang selanjutnya menjadi prioritas pemberian usulan perbaikan yang tepat dan sesuai dengan masalah dan kondisi di PT Yamato Indonesia Forwarding pada Departemen Air Export. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah aktivitas non value added sebesar 519.420 detik atau 39.44% dari waktu proses keseluruhan, terdapat jenis-jenis pemborosan (waste) yaitu adanya proses berlebih (excess processing), menunggu (waiting), transportasi (transportation), dan pergerakan berlebih (motion) serta dilakukan penerapan continuous improvement. Dengan menggunakan metode ini diperoleh nilai PCE sebesar 51.51% sehingga pada proses pengiriman barang komatsu grup dapat dikatakan lean dan penurunan lead time menjadi 8.5 hari dari target yang diberikan selama 14 hari.
