Abstract

Image is important for the sustainability of a company, so there needs to be special handling. The company's relationship with the company is the duty or responsibility of public relations at the company. One of the strategies currently carried out by public relations in improving the company's image by enhancing brand image through social media, is carried out by PT Pan Pacific Insurance through the management of its Instagram social media with account name @panficinsurance. This research uses the theoretical basis for the use of social media that explains how social media is one of the communication strategy tools currently used by public relations to develop a company's brand image. This research also uses the concept of public relations, the concept of social media and the concept of brand image. This research uses a positivistic paradigm with the type of explanatory research. The research method used is Quantitative-Survey. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires directly to 89 respondents who became followers of the account Instagram social media @panficinsurance. The results showed that the application of Instagram social media was positive and significant towards PT Pan Pacific Insurance's brand image. This can be seen from the regression coefficient (b) = 0.603 with a significance probability (sig) <0.05. Keywords : Social Media, Instagram, Brand Image Citra merupakan hal penting bagi keberlangsungan sebuah perusahaan, sehingga perlu adanya penanganan khusus. Salah satu strategi yang saat ini banyak dilakukan oleh public relations dalam meningkatkan citra perusahaan adalah dengan meningkatkan brand image melalui media sosial, sebagaimana yang dilakukan oleh PT Pan Pacific Insurance melalui pengelolaan akun media sosial Instagram perusahannya yang bernama @panficinsurance. Penelitian ini menggunakan landasan teori pemanfaatan media sosial yang menjelaskan bagaimana media sosial menjadi salah satu sarana strategi komunikasi yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh public relations untuk mengembangkan citra merek suatu perusahaan. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan konsep public relations, konsep media sosial dan konsep citra merek (brand image). Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma positivistic dengan tipe penelitian eksplanatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Kuantitatif-Survey. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner secara langsung kepada 89 responden yang menjadi pengikut atau followers dari akun media sosial Instagram @panficinsurance. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemanfaatan media sosial Instagram berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap citra merek PT Pan Pacific Insurance. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai koefisien regresi (b) = 0,603 dengan probabilitas signifikansi (sig) < 0,05. Kata Kunci : Media Sosial, Instagram, Citra Merek
