Abstract
The background is that there are problems with new students in the communication process in the early days of lectures who run online learning. The purpose of this is to find out the process of interpersonal communication between students and lecturers and other students as well as the obstacles experienced in online learning in individual assignments and group assignments in the field of Public Relations and Management study programs. Interpersonal Communication Success Theory includes 5 (five) aspects, namely Openness, Empathy, Support, Positive Feelings and Equality obtained from communication between students and lecturers and other students in the communication process carried out through WhatsApp communication channels and POST and Google Meet learning media. This study uses a constructivist paradigm with qualitative research methods, descriptive research type. Data obtained by conducting in-depth interviews. The subjects of this research consisted of students and lecturers from the field of Public Relations studies and the Management study program at Mercu Buana University. The results show that interpersonal communication still looks one-way so that it doesn't go well, especially in communication and group assignments are not very effective because of the incompatibility of each member's time, and students still feel reluctant with the lecturer so that they communicate with the lecturer through class representatives. Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Group Communication, Learning Media Dilatarbelakangi adanya permasalahan pada mahasiswa baru dalam proses komunikasi di masa awal perkuliahan yang menjalankan pembelajaran secara online. Adapun tujuan ini untuk mengetahui proses komunikasi interpersonal antara mahasiswa dan dosen dan mahasiswa lainnya sekaligus hambatan yang dialami pada pembelajaran daring dalam tugas secara individu maupun tugas secara berkelompok di bidang studi Public Relations dan program studi Managemen. Teori Keberhasilan Komunikasi Interpersonal meliputi 5 (lima) aspek yaitu Keterbukaan, Empati, Dukungan, Perasaan Positif dan Kesetaraan diperoleh dari komunikasi antara mahasiswa dengan dosen dan mahasiswa lainnya dalam proses komunikasi yang dilakukan melalui saluran komunikasi WhatsApp dan media pembelajaran POST dan Google Meet. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan metode penelitian Kualitatif, tipe penelitian deskriptif. Data yang diperoleh dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari mahasiswa dan Dosen pengampu dari bidang studi Public Relations dan program studi Managemen Universitas Mercu Buana. Hasil penelitian menunjukan komunikasi interpersonal masih terlihat satu arah sehingga tidak berjalan dengan baik, khususnya pada komunikasi dan tugas secara berkelompok tidak terlalu efektif karena ketidaksesuaian waktu masing-masing anggota, dan mahasiswa masih merasa segan dengan Dosen pengampu sehingga berkomunikasi dengan Dosen melalui perwakilan kelas.
