Abstract

This research intended to know determine the effect of herding and overconfidence bias on investment decisions. The object of this research is private employees of PT. Promedrahardjo Pharmaceutical Industry, especially the marketing division with manager positions for the areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek) in 2018 totaling 140 employees. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with the criteria of active employees, positions as managers and have invested, with a total sample of 110 employees. Data analysis in this study uses an alternative method of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), namely WrapPLS 5.0. The first stage in this study was to test the validity of the questions of each of the following variables with their reliability. The second stage examines the relationship between herding, overconfidence bias towards investment decisions. The results of this study state that the herding variable has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions. Similarly, overconfidence bias has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions. Keywords: herding, overconfidence bias, investment decisions Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh herding dan overconfidence bias terhadap keputusan investasi. Objek penelitian ini adalah karyawan swasta PT. Promedrahardjo Farmasi Industri khususnya divisi marketing dengan posisi manajer untuk daerah Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek) tahun 2018 sejumlah 140 karyawan. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling dengan kriteria karyawan aktif, posisi sebagai manajer dan telah berinvestasi, dengan jumlah sampel 110 karyawan. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode alternatif dari Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) yaitu WrapPLS 5.0. Tahap pertama dalam penelitian ini untuk menguji validitas pertanyaan setiap variabel berikut dengan reliabilitasnya. Tahap kedua menguji hubungan antara herding , overconfidence bias terhadap keputusan investasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa variabel herding berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi. Begitu pula dengan overconfidence bias berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi. Kata kunci: herding, overconfidence bias, keputusan investasi
