Abstract

PT. Mowilex Indonesia is a leading paint company, experienced problems in the Quality Control Division, which in the process of analyzing Base Paint products often experienced delays that could not meet the set target processing time of 3 hours. Therefore used DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) and VSM (Value Stream Mapping) methods with the aim of knowing the factors that inhibit the analysis process and know how to process the analysis of base paint products can be achieved within a target time of 3 hours. After calculating and analyzing data using the DMAIC method, it is known that factors that hinder the analysis process include lack of coordination between analysts and coordinators, operators need to be monitored, products out of specification, samples with low viscosity, QC inspectors cannot complete work when there are many sample lots. entry approaching break time, writing time by analyst is inaccurate, unstructured sample entry so the sample often enters approaching break and irregular analysis workflow starting from sample entering QC. Then the VSM method is made to improve workflow from the Panel Application - Color Analysis - Viscosity Analysis - Approval to Panel Application - Viscosity Analysis - Color Analysis - Approval, with the workflow improvement it is expected to meet the specified time target and make a reference for workflow and time for the future from 186 minutes to 133 minutes Keywords: DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), and VSM (Value Stream Mapping).
