Abstract
Xiaomi is a new mobile phone manufacturer from China. As a new producer, Xiaomi has been able to dominate the market with the number 3 sales order in Indonesia. Along with the sales of Xiaomi and the large number of new competitors, it can result in a decline in sales of Xiaomi mobile phones, which is accompanied by many complaints about the quality of products from the unrecovered Xiaomi. Quality Function Deployment is the right method in an effort to improve the quality of mobile products. The first step in this method is to read the needs and expectations of customers by distributing questionnaires and direct interviews with customers, with the final result, namely a matrix called house of quality. House of quality contain the needs and perceptions of customers up to the priority of improvements that must be made in an effort to improve quality of product. Based on the results of the study, the need for large-capacity batteries and equipped with power-saving modes is a top priority with a weight importance 9.72, this is due to the need for someone who wants to be able to use Xiaomi mobile phones for all day activities without having to charge during the day. More interesting color variations are the last priority with a weight importance 0.99 because customers are more concerned with aspects of performance than appearance. Keyword: Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Quality Improvement, Customer Needs, xiaomi mobile phone Xiaomi merupakan produsen handphone baru yang berasal dari Negara Tiongkok. Sebagai produsen baru, xiaomi telah mampu menguasai pasar dengan urutan penjualan nomor 3 di Indonesia. Seiring dengan penjualan xiaomi serta banyaknya kompetitor baru, dapat berakibat terjadinya penurunan penjualan handphone xiaomi yang diiringi dengan banyaknya keluhan mengenai kualitas produk dari xiaomi yang tidak diperbaiki. Quality Function Deployment merupakan metode yang tepat dalam upaya memperbaiki kualitas dari produk handphone. Langkah awal dalam metode ini adalah membaca kebutuhan dan harapan dari pelanggan dengan penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara langsung dengan pelanggan, dengan hasil akhir yaitu sebuah matrik yang disebut house of quality. Dimana house of quality tersebut berisikan tentang kebutuhan dan persepsi pelanggan sampai dengan prioritas perbaikan yang harus dilakukan dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas produk. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kebutuhan battery berkapasitas besar dan dilengkapi dengan mode hemat daya menjadi prioritas utama dengan nilai weight importance 9.72, ini dikarenakan kebutuhan seseorang yang ingin tetap dapat menggunakan handphone xiaomi untuk aktivitas seharian tanpa harus melakukan charging di siang hari. Variasi warna yang lebih menarik menjadi prioritas terakhir dengan nilai weight importance 0.99 dikarenakan pelanggan lebih mementingkan aspek kinerja dibandingkan tampilan.
