Abstract

Environmental damage is increasingly occurring in Indonesia today. One of them is the habit of Indonesian people who cannot be wise in managing their waste so that the waste can end up in landfills to the sea. In addition to the government, many start-up companies focus on the environment such as Waste4Change. Waste4Change invites people to care about waste by reducing waste production and sorting it at home with the services and programs offered. This communication strategy includes the stages of theoretical concepts by Anwar Arifin which include knowing the audience, compiling and delivering messages, determining methods, media selection, and the role of communicators. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with resource persons, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the communication strategy carried out by Waste4Change on Instagram social media as a means of educational campaigns was done well. The campaign content shared in the form of information and knowledge about waste issues in Indonesia was done quite well because this Bijak Kelola Sampah campaign can provide public knowledge and awareness. Keywords: Communication Strategy, Campaign, Social Media, Instagram Kerusakan lingkungan semakin banyak terjadi di Indonesia dewasa ini. Salah satunya adalah kebiasaan masyarakat Indonesia yang tidak bisa bijak dalam mengelola sampahnya, sehingga sampah tersebut dapat berakhir di TPA hingga laut. Selain pemerintah, banyak Perusahaan swasta yang fokus terhadap lingkungan seperti Waste4Change. Waste4Change mengajak masyarakat untuk peduli tentang sampah dengan cara mengurangi produksi sampah dan memilahnya dirumah dengan pelayanan dan program yang ditawarkan. Strategi komunikasi ini meliputi tahapan-tahapan konsep teoritis oleh Anwar Arifin yang mencakup mengenal khalayak, penyusunan dan metode penyampaian pesan, menetapkan metode, pemilihan media, dan peranan komunikator. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan narasumber, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa strategi komunikasi yang dilakukan Waste4Change di media sosial Instagram sebagai sarana kampanye edukasi dilakukan dengan baik. Konten kampanye yang dibagikan berupa informasi dan pengetahuan mengenai isu-isu persampahan di Indonesia dilakukan dengan cukup baik, karena dengan kampanye Bijak Kelola Sampah ini dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat.
