Abstract

This study discusses interpersonal communication experiences in the acclimation process of Chinese Peranakans in the Tangerang Region. This study aims to determine the experience of interpersonal communication and the process of acculturation in Chinese Peranakan families in the Tangerang area. In terms of communication theory, this study employs Judy D. Pearson and De Vito's interpersonal communication theory, George Herbert Mead's symbolic interaction theory, and Husserl's phenomenology. The research method used is phenomenology, with a descriptive research type and a qualitative approach. Process Data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews with sources and observations While the data analysis technique uses the Lexy Moleong triangulation technique, which is a data validity checking technique that utilizes something else, The results of this study indicate that the Chinese Peranakan community's efforts to maintain harmonization can be seen in the way they communicate, where they try to maintain an attitude of tolerance among themselves. Chinese Peranakan culture in Indonesia is the result of cultural acculturation. Social identity distinguishes each ethnicity; the Peranakan Chinese in the Pasar Lama Tangerang area recognize their respective identities, but they see and recognize identity more as people who live side by side with a strong attitude of tolerance to achieve harmonization. Keywords: Acculturation Process, Phenomenology, Interpersonal Communication, Symbolic Interaction Theory Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Pengalaman Komunikasi Antar Personal Dalam Proses Akulturasi Peranakan Cina Di Wilayah Tangerang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengalaman komunikasi antar personal dan proses akulturasi dalam keluarga peranakan China di wilayah Tangerang.. Melihat dari sisi teori teori komunikasi, penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Komunikasi Antar Pribadi Judy D Pearson dan De Vito, Teori Interaksi Simbolik George Herbert Mead, Fenomenologi Husserl. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Metode penelitian fenomenologi, dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan Kualitatif. Proses Teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara secara mendalam dengan para narasumber dan observasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik Lexy Moleong triangulasi yaitu teknik pemeriksaaan keabsahan data yang memanfaatkan sesuatu yang lain. Hasil dari penelitian ini, menunjukan bahwa komunitas etnis cina peranakan dalam menjaga harmonisasi dapat terlihat dari cara mereka berkomunikasi, dimana mereka berupaya untuk menjaga sikap toleransi antar sesama. Kebudayaaan peranakan cina yang terjadi di Indonesia merupakan proses dari akulturasi budaya. Identitas sosial menjadikan terdapatnya perbedaan antara masing masing etnis yang berbeda, etnis cina peranakan dikawasan pasar lama tangerang ini mengakui identitas mereka masing masing kan tetapi mereka lebih melihat dan mengakui identitas sebagai masyarakat yang hidup berdampingan dengan sikap toleranasi yang kuat untuk mencapai harmonisasi.
