Abstract

Cases of drug abuse that ensnare musicians creates a negative stigma that develops in the midst of the community about musicians who are closely related to deviant behavior. The Pots Community community as a musicians community often gets such negative stigma, moreover the Pots community is a young generation from the Potlot community that have ever been entangled in drug cases in the 90s. This study aims to determine the form of behavior, motives, and self-concept of the musicians who are members of the Pots community. In addition, this study was also conducted to find out how informants experienced negative stigma and interpreted it. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenology method. The data collection is done through in-depth interviews and observation. Taking the subjects in this study using purposive sampling technique. The subjects in this study were members of the Pots community who experienced negative stigma. Data analysis techniques in this study used Analysis Interactive Model from Miles and Hubeman by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Validity checking of the data in this study uses triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that informants experience negative stigma and interpret it as a trigger for them to be productive, as a reprimand to carry out social activities, and as a control of their behavior. Inforrmants’s behavior is related to their conscious experiences that are interpreted. The motives encourage them to act are divided into backward motives (because of motives) and forward motives (in order to motive). Forms of self-concept members of the Pots community are self-confidence, critical character, knowing self-competence, understanding values and norms. The informant views his status as an ideal or career. Keywords: Behaviour, Motive, Self-concept, Life style, Phenomenology Kasus-kasus penyalahgunaan narkoba yang menjerat anak band menciptakan stigma negatif yang berkembang ditengah-tengah masyarakat tentang anak band yang erat kaitannya dengan perilaku menyimpang. Komunitas Pots sebagai komunitas anak band kerap mendapat stigma negatif tersebut, terlebih lagi komunitas Pots merupakan generasi muda dari komunitas Potlot yang pernah terjerat kasus narkoba pada tahun 90-an. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk perilaku, motif, dan konsep diri anak band yang tergabung dalam komunitas Pots. Selain itu penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana informan mengalami stigma negatif dan memaknainya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Adapun pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Pengambilan subjek dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah anggota komunitas Pots yang mengalami stigma negatif. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Analysis Interactive Model dari Miles dan Hubeman dengan cara pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa informan mengalami stigma negatif dan memaknainya sebagai pemicu mereka untuk terus berkarya, sebagai teguran untuk melaksanakan kegiatan sosial, dan sebagai kontrol terhadap tingkah laku mereka. Perilaku infrorman berkaitan dengan pengalaman sadar mereka yang dimaknai. Motif yang mendasari mereka untuk bertindak terbagi menjadi motif kebelakang (because motive) dan motif kedepan (in order to motive). Bentuk konsep diri anggota komunitas Pots diantara lain adalah karakter percaya diri, kritis, mengetahui kompetensi diri, memahami nilai dan norma.
