Abstract

The patient safety requires a transformation of organizational culture as a whole, while organizational culture can be defined as an immense force and something that persists despite its various changes. This study focused on the form and influence of the organization, the level of discipline and competence by nursing staff and their influence on the level of patient safety at Hospital of YPK Mandiri. The research design was cross sectional using a quantitative approach. Data collection was using questionnaires and distributed to all hospital employees. Data analysis was using Partial Least Square (PLS). PLS or Partial Least Square is an alternative method of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by performing univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results showed that there was no influence between organizational culture and work discipline, competence had a positive effect on discipline, organizational culture did not have a positive effect on patient safety, competence had a negative influence on patient safety culture, work discipline had a positive effect on patient safety, work discipline could not mediate positively influence of the organizational culture on patient safety, work discipline cannot positively mediate the influence of competence on patient safety culture. It is suggested the need for the role of top management in building a patient safety culture so that it can indirectly affect the organizational culture of the hospital. Keywords: Organization culture, Patient safety culture, Discipline, Competency, Hospital Upaya keselamatan pasien memerlukan transformasi budaya organisasi secara menyeluruh, adapun budaya organisasi merupakan suatu kekuatan yang sangat besar dan sesuatu yang tetap ada walaupun terjadi berbagai perubahan di dalamnya. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada bentuk dan pengaruh budaya organisasi, tingkat kedislipinan serta kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh tenaga keperawatan dan pengaruhnya terhadap tingkat keselamatan pasien di RS YPK Mandiri. Desain penelitian dengan potong lintang (cross sectional) menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan penyebaran kuesioner yang di sebar ke semua karyawan rumah sakit. Analisa data menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS) adalah salah satu metode alternative Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan melakukan Analisa univariat, bivariat dan multivariat. Hasil penelitian tidak ada pengaruh antara budaya organisasi dengan disiplin kerja, kompetensi berpengaruh positif terhadap disiplin, budaya organisasi tidak memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap keselamatan pasien, kompetensi memiliki pengaruh negative terhadap keselamatan pasien, disiplin kerja berpengaruh positif terhadap keselamatan pasien, disiplin kerja tidak dapat memediasi secara positif pengaruh budaya organisasi terhadap keselamatan pasien, disiplin kerja tidak dapat memediasi secara positif pengaruh kompetensi terhadap keselamatan pasien. Disarankan perlunya peran serta top management dalam membangun keselamatan pasien sehingga secara tidak langsung dapat berpengaruh terhadap budaya organisasi rumah sakit.
