Abstract

Editing is a post-production activity that is carried out after the production process. Editing is made after all material or shot results are owned by the editor. Editor can be defined as the process of compiling, manipulating, and reordering video recordings into a series of stories by providing text, images, or sound so that they are easily accepted and accepted. Setapak Pendidikan is a documentary film that tells the story of a school in the middle of the capital but with minimal educational facilities. The author acts as editor and applies Sergei Einstein's study montage editing techniques in image editing. In this case, the writer applies 2 montage editing components, namely Rhytmic Montage and Metric Montage. Based on the research and film-making process, it can be revealed that: (1) A documentary film is a work based on facts that is not added or exaggerated. (2) Finding information from various sources helps in offline editing. (3) It takes teamwork in making films. (4) Careful planning is very helpful to facilitate the production process. Keywords: Documentary Films, Image Editing. Editing adalah sebuah kegiatan pasca produksi yang dilakukan setelah proses produksi. Editing dilakukan setelah seluruh materi atau hasil shot dimiliki oleh editor. Editor dapat diartikan sebagai proses menyusun, memanipulasi, dan merangkai ulang rekaman video menjadi suatu rangkaian cerita dengan memberikan penambahan tulisan, gambar, atau suara sehingga mudah dimengerti dan dapat dinikmati pemirsa. Setapak Pendidikan merupakan Film Dokumenter yang bercerita tentang sekolah yang berada ditengah ibukota tetapi minim fasilitas pendidikan. Penulis berperan sebagai editor dan menerapkan teknik montage editing kajian Sergei Einstein dalam penyuntingan gambar. Dalam hal ini penulis menerapkan 2 komponen editing montage, yaitu Rhytmic Montage dan Metric Montage. Berdasarkan penelitian dan proses pembuatan film yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Film dokumenter merupakan sebuah karya yang berdasarkan fakta yang terjadi tidak ditambahkan atau dilebihkan. (2) Mencari informasi dari berbagai sumber membantu dalam editing offline (3) Dibutuhkan kerjasama tim dalam pembuatan sebuah film (4) Perencanaan yang matang sangat penting untuk memudahkan proses produksi. 1 Kata Kunci : Film Dokumenter, Penyuntingan Gaambar, Setapak Pendidikan
