Abstract

Troso, the name of a village in the Pecangaan sub-district, Jepara Regency. Jepara Troso weaving itself has been around since 1935. In 1943 there were two distinctive features of the weaving motif created by the Troso Village community, namely Motif Cemara (pine tree) and Motif Lompong (taro leaves). However, the woven cloth with the Cemara and Lompong motifs only experienced a golden age until 1965. The final project entitled "Baju Dengan Penerapan Material Tenun Ikat Troso jepara" has a problem formulation of how the motif so that the characteristic of troso ikat can be popularized again and how to unite modern styles with traditional elements. The purpose of this final project design is to popularize troso ikat weaving, and to bring back the distinctive motif of troso ikat weaving througt clothes with a casual chic style theme. Based on the data analysis carried out, it is based on that the application of motif on clothes with theme “casual chic” inspired by one of the Indonesian journalists, Najwa Shihab throught career women, is expected to be able to revive one of the cultural heritage of Jepara and the people of Jepara can appreciate and appreciate the craftsmen and creators of the Jepara motif. Keyword : Weaving, Culture, Casual Chic, Fashion Troso, nama salah satu desa yang terdapat di kecamatan Pecangaan Kabupaten Jepara. Tenun Troso Jepara sendiri sudah ada sejak kisaran tahun 1935. Pada tahun 1943 Terdapat dua ciri khas motif tenun hasil karya cipta komunitas Desa Troso, yaitu Motif Cemara (pohon cemara) dan Motif Lompong (daun tales). Namun kain tenun yang bermotifkan Cemara dan Lompong hanya mengalami zaman keemasan sampai tahun 1965. Tugas Akhir dengan judul “Baju Dengan Penerapan Material Tenun Ikat Troso Jepara” memiliki rumusan masalah bagaimana agar motif ciri khas tenun ikat troso dapat dipopulerkan kembali dan bagaimana menyatukan style modern dengan unsur tradisional. Tujuan rancangan tugas akhir ini adalah mempopulerkan tenun ikat troso, dan mengangkat kembali motif ciri khas tenun ikat troso melalui baju dengan tema casual chic style. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Penerapan motif pada baju yang mengangkat tema “casual chic” yang terinspirasi oleh salah satu jurnalis Indonesia Najwa Shihab melalui wanita karir, diharapkan bisa mengangkat kembali salah satu warisan budaya Jepara dan masyarakat Jepara bisa lebih mengapresiasi dan menghargai para pengrajin dan pencipta motif Jepara tersebut.
