Abstract
The fashion industry is one of the industries that has a fast movement, especially thanks to the emergence of fast fashion trends that are in demand by the world. Data from McKinsey (2016) shows that the success of fast fashion can be seen from the increase in the average consumption of clothing which increases by 60% every year. Research from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation shows that the fashion industry produces more climate-damaging gas emissions than the shipping and aviation industries combined. Various ways have been done to inform the public of fashion waste, ranging from: exhibitions, campaign videos, campaigns on social media, and so on. Based on research Lindstrom (1994) in Munir that people can receive information 15% of what they see and 30% of what they see and hear. And this encourages the author to choose animated videos as a medium in conveying information about fashion waste to the public. Keywords: Animation, Fashion Waste, Information Video Industri fesyen menjadi salah satu industri yang mempunyai pergerakan cepat, khususnya berkat kemunculan tren fast fashion yang tengah diminati dunia. Data dari McKinsey (2016) menunjukkan bahwa kesuksesan fast fesyen dapat dilihat dari peningkatan konsumsi rata – rata busana yang meningkat sebanyak 60% setiap tahunnya. Penelitian dari Ellen MacArthur Foundation menyebutkan bahwa industri fesyen menghasilkan emisi gas yang lebih merusak iklim dibandingkan industri pelayaran dan penerbangan digabungkan menjadi satu. Berbagai cara telah dilakukan untuk menginformasikan limbah fesyen kepada masyarakat, mulai dari : pameran, video kampanye, kampanye di sosial media, dan lain sebagainya. Berdasarkan penelitian Lindstrom (1994) dalam munir bahwa orang dapat menerima informasi 15% dari apa yang mereka lihat dan 30% dari apa yang mereka lihat dan dengar. Dan hal tersebut mendorong penulis untuk memilih video animasi sebagai media dalam menyampaikan informasi mengenai limbah fesyen kepada masyarakat.
