Abstract
Communication is an important part of every individual's life to make social interactions with their environment, such as communication between managers and employees with disabilities at Precious One, West Jakarta. As for the employees who work at Precious One, who have backgrounds of persons with multiple disabilities (deaf-speech), persons with physical disabilities (disabled) and also persons with intellectual disabilities (down syndrome). Communication is done using total communication. Internal relationships between managers and employees with disabilities Precious One are also built by providing motivation to employees as a form of employee relations activities. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze interpersonal communication that occurs between managers and employees with disabilities in Precious One, West Jakarta. The paradigm used in this research is the constructivism paradigm. The research method used in this research is a case study research method. A case study is a series of scientific activities carried out intensively, in detail and in depth about a program, event and activity, whether at the level of an individual, group of people, institution or organization to obtain in-depth knowledge of the event. The conclusion of this study is that interpersonal communication between managers and various employees with disabilities in Precious One uses total communication, namely non-verbal communication, verbal communication, sign language, body gestures and the use of WhatsApp Group. In the communication process that runs in Prcious One, communication barriers arise, such as misunderstandings and differences in perceptions of messages and work orders given. Keywords: Organizational Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Verbal Communication, Non-Verbal Communication, Persons with Disabilities Komunikasi menjadi bagian penting dalam kehidupan setiap individu untuk melakukan interaksi sosial dengan lingkungannya, seperti komunikasi yang dilakukan antara pengelola dan karyawan disabilitas di Precious One Jakarta Barat. Adapun karyawan-karyawan yang bekerja di Precious One, yaitu berlatarbelakang penyandang disabilitas ganda (tunarungu-wicara), penyandang disabilitas fisik (tunadaksa) dan juga penyandang disabilitas intelektual (down syndrom). Komunikasi yang dilakukan menggunakan komunikasi total. Hubungan internal antara pengelola dan karyawan penyandang disabilitas Precious One juga dibangun dengan memberikan motivasi kepada karyawan sebagai bentuk dari aktivitas employee relations. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis komunikasi antar pribadi yang terjadi antara pengelola dan karyawan penyandang disabilitas Precious One Jakarta Barat. Paradigma yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah paradigma konstruktivisme. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian studi kasus. Studi kasus ialah suatu serangkaian kegiatan ilmiah yang dilakukan secara intensif, terinci dan mendalam tentang suatu program, peristiwa, dan aktivitas, baik pada tingkat perorangan, sekelompok orang, lembaga, atau organisasi untuk memperoleh pengetahuan mendalam tentang peristiwa tersebut. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah komunikasi antar pribadi antara pengelola dan ragam karyawan disabilitas di Precious One menggunakan komunikasi total, yaitu komunikasi non verbal, komunikasi verbal, bahasa isyarat, gesture tubuh dan penggunaan WhatsApp Group. Dalam proses komunikasi yang berjalan di Prcious One, muncul hambatan-hambatan komunikasi, seperti kesalahpahaman dan perbedaan persepsi atas pesan dan perintah kerja yang diberikan.
