Abstract

The high data on sexual violence in Indonesia requires attention and anticipation from the government, the need for information media in educating Indonesia's young generation. The Instagram account @_perempuan_ presents information about sexuality issues with various forms of posts that are expected through reading posts to have an impact on followers. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the use of Instagram @_perempuan_ in educating teenagers through Instagram content. The theory used in this research is computer mediated communication from Pearson, namely that there are two types of communication interactions including synchronous communication and asynchronous communication. The paradigm of this research is post-positivism by using descriptive research methods through a qualitative approach. Primary data collection techniques are indepth interviews, and secondary data with documentation and checking the validity of the data using source triangulation. The results showed that the Women's Community used the Instagram account @perempuan to provide information and interact with the public regarding sexuality issues in accordance with the theory of computer mediated communication in which there are two types of communication, synchronous communication and asynchronous communication, which educate by presenting informative content for followers. Keywords : Utilization of Instagram, Computer Mediated Communication, Sexuality Tingginya data kekerasan seksual di Indonesia memerlukan perhatian dan antisipasi dari pemerintah, diperlukannya media informasi dalam mengedukasi remaja Indonesia. Akun Instagram @_perempuan_ menyajikan informasi mengenai isu seksualitas dengan berbagai bentuk postingan yang diharapkan melalui pembacaan postingan dapat memberikan dampak bagi followers. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pemanfaatan Instagram @_perempuan_ dalam mengedukasi remaja melalui konten Instagram. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini computer mediated communication dari Pearson yaitu terdapat dua jenis interaksi komunikasi diantaranya synchronous communication dan asynchronous communication. Paradigma penelitian ini adalah post-positivisme dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data primer yaitu wawancara mendalam, dan data sekunder dengan dokumentasi serta pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Komunitas Perempuan memanfaatkan akun Instagram @perempuan untuk memberikan informasi dan berinteraksi kepada publik terkait isu seksualitas sesuai dengan teori computer mediated communication yang mana terdapat dua jenis komunikasi yang dilakukan synchronous communication dan asynchronous communication yang mengedukasi dengan menyajikan konten yang informatif bagi para followers.
