Abstract
ABSTRAK Film pada dasarnya ditulis berdasarkan fiksi dan nonfiksi kemudian diaplikasikan kedalam sebuah gambar bergerak atau film, dengan dasar ini pesanpesan yang ingin disampaikan dapat dilihat dan dipahami secara jelas. Film “MERU” yang berdurasi 87 menit ini merupakan salah satu contoh film yang berdasarkan dari cerita nonfiksi, film ini menceritakan tentang sekelompok para pendaki professional yang memiliki tujuan untuk menaklukkan Puncak Gunung Meru. Selama proses itu berlangsung digambarkan bagaimana teknik-teknik melakukan Survival dan Motivasi yang terdapat dalam film Dokumenter Meru tersebut. Maka dari itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana Survivaldan Motivasi di representasikan dalam film Dokumenter “MERU”. Teori yang peneliti gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori semiotika milik Charles Sanders Peirce. Semiotika adalah ilmu yang mempelajari tentang tanda-tanda. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan semiotika segitiga makna yang memiliki tiga elemen utama meliputi Sign (film Dokumenter MERU), Object (Survival dan Motivasi), dan Interpretant (Representasi). Dalam penelitian ini Peneliti menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis, tipe penelitian pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif, metode penelitian dengan analisis semiotika, unit analisis berupa visual dan analisis data menggunakan segitiga makna dari Charles Sanders Peirce. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian yang telah dikaji Peneliti dari film Dokumenter “MERU” ini, sesuai dengan teori-teori mengenai Survivaldan Motivasi bahwa seorang pendaki/Survivor harus melakukan beberapa langkah untuk mempertahan kelangsungan hidup di alam bebas dan mendorong perilaku individu untuk mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. http://digilib.mercubuana.ac.id/ vii FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION MERCU BUANA UNIVERSITY JAKARTA Name : Reza Kemal Wijoyo NIM : 44115310023 Title : Representasi Survival dan Motivasi Dalam Film Dokumenter MERU Major : Broadcasting Bibliografi : 5 BAB (91 pages) + 19 reference ABSTRACT Films are basically written based on fiction and nonfiction then applied into a moving picture or film, on the basis of which the messages to be conveyed can be seen and clearly understood. The 87-minute "MERU" movie is an example of a film based on a nonfiction story, it tells of a group of professional climbers who aim to conquer Mount Meru Peak. During the process it was described how techniques performed the Survival and Motivation contained in the Meru Documentary film. Therefore, researchers want to know how the Survivandan Motivation is represented in the documentary film "MERU". The theory that researchers use in this research is Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory. Semiotics is the study of signs. The method of analysis in this study uses a triangle meaning semiotics which has three main elements including Sign (MERU Documentary film), Object (Survival and Motivation), and Interpretant (Representation). In this research the researcher uses constructivist paradigm, research type of descriptive qualitative approach, research method with semiotic analysis, visual analysis unit and data analysis using triangle of meaning from Charles Sanders Peirce. Based on the results of research that has been studied by Researchers from the documentary film "MERU", in accordance with the theories about Survivandan Motivation that a climber / Survivor must take several steps to maintain the survival in the wild and encourage individual behavior to achieve the desired goals.
