Abstract
Documentary film is a film that tells a reality or a real event with the power of the creator's idea in assembling interesting images to be special as a whole so that it becomes a neat unity of stories to be watched by the public. This documentary is titled STUDY OF DOCUMENTARY DESIGN (DOCUMENTARY IMAGING TECHNIQUES IN THE FILM "DI BALIK SEBUAH ASA") This film tells the story of the social life of a Ridwan Sururi, who is a literacy mover in Serang Village, Purbalingga, Central Java. In the midst of the issue of the low level of interest in reading in children in Indonesia Ridwan Sururi is present to make a movement in the hope that he can help increase interest in reading in children from an early age. In making this documentary the writer will explain the story above using the approach of the Cameraman language as well as the Cameraman work stages from the pre-production to production stages. The function of what the cameraman does is very important from the start of the camera movement, lens movement and also the composition of the image, it is the cameraman tells the story through each shot taken.
