Abstract

Kaliurang area has been seen as a tourist destination since the Dutch colonial era. In the 19th century, Dutch geologists living in Yogyakarta intended to find a resting place for their families. After the Dutch left Indonesia, Kaliurang remained as a resting place. Many companies and agencies set up guesthouses in Kaliurang. At first, these guesthouses were only used for the benefit of companies or agencies. But then it was rented out to the wider community. After getting more crowded and growing, Kaliurang was finally equipped with various tourist facilities. This potential is behind the Wagiyo Family who have a background in managing medium-sized hotel companies will develop a property business in the form of villas and hotel rooms and restaurants as a complement. Classification of 1-star hotels, but has a unique design. The desired theme is Vernacular Architecture, which is contextually designed based on the situation in which the building stands, based on the materials available on the construction site and still reflects local wisdom. Keywords : Tourism, Villa, Hotel, One Star Hotel, Vernacular Architecture Kawasan Kaliurang sudah dipandang sebagai tujuan wisata sejak zaman penjajahan Belanda. Pada abad 19, para ahli geologi Belanda yang tinggal di Yogyakarta bermaksud mencari tempat peristirahatan bagi keluarga mereka. Setelah Belanda meninggalkan Indonesia, Kaliurang tetap dijadikan tempat peristirahatan. Banyak perusahaan dan instansi mendirikan wisma di Kaliurang. Pada awalnya, wisma-wisma tersebut hanya digunakan untuk kepentingan perusahaan atau instansi. Namun kemudian disewakan untuk masyarakat luas. Setelah semakin ramai dan berkembang, Kaliurang pun akhirnya dilengkapi berbagai fasilitas wisata. Potensi inilah yang melatar belakangi Keluarga Wagiyo yang punya latar belakang mengelola perusahaan hotel menengah akan mengembangkan bisnis property tempat peristirahatan berbentuk villa dan kamar hotel serta rumah makan sebagai pelengkap. Klasifikasi hotel bintang 1, tetapi mempunyai keunikan desain. Tema yang diinginkan adalah Arsitektur Vernakuler, yang dirancang secara kontekstual berdasarkan situasi di tempat berdirinya bangunan, berdasarkan material yang tersedia di lokasi pembangunan dan tetap mencerminkan kearifan lokal.
