Abstract
This research was conducted to look at personality types based on Big Five Theory and online game addiction at Mercu Buana University Students. Game Addiction Scale for Adolascent is used to measure the addiction (Lemmens, S. Jeroen, et al. 2009 Lemmens, S. Jeroen, et al. 2009), while is used to measurement Big Five Inventory (John & Srivastava, 1999) that has been personality adapted. The number of respondents is 114 peoples with characteristics Student University of Mercu Buana and online gaming Mobile Lagend. The results is significant positive relationship between personality types with the Addictive Mobile Games Online against Legend among students of Mercu Buana Jakarta. The results of dimensional correlation indicate that the personality type domain has a significant r 0.215 p>0.05 relationship with addiction is the Neuroticsm dimension to the dependent variable (Addiction). In the research also obtained significant results on online game addiction based on the duration of playing online games with an average span of more than 12 months, the longer the subject plays online game then the possibility of a subject for addiction is getting higher. Keywords: Big Five Personality, Game Online Addiction Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat Tipe Kepribadian berdasarkan Big Five Theory dan Kecanduan game online Pada Mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Alat ukur Indonesian Development and Validity of a Game Addiction Scale for Adolascent digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat adiksi responden (Lemmens, S. Jeroen, dkk. 2009 Lemmens, S. Jeroen, dkk. 2009), sedangkan pengukuran kepribadian dilakukan menggunakan Big Five Inventory (John & Srivastava, 1999) yang telah diadaptasi. Jumlah responden sebanyak 114 orang dengan karakteristik yaitu Mahasiswa/I Universitas Mercu Buana dan bermain game online Mobile Lagend. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara Tipe Kepribadian dengan Kecanduan terhadap Game Online Mobile Lagend di kalangan Mahasiswa/I Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Hasil korelasi menunjukan bahwa domain Tipe Kepribadian yang memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan r 0.215 p>0.05 kecanduan adalah dimensi Neuroticsm terhadap variabel terikat (Kecanduan). Dalam penelitian juga di di dapatkan hasil yang signifikan pada Kecanduan Game Online berdasarkan Lama Bermain Game Online dengan rentang waktu rata-rata lebih dari 12 bulan, semakin lama subjek bermain Game Online maka kemungkinan subjek untuk kecanduan semakin tinggi.
