Abstract
Television programs are divided into two parts, namely information (news) and entertainment (entertainment) programs. Entertainment programs can be produced by television stations themselves or produced by other parties, for example production houses or production houses (PH). Entertainment programs are information programs that present news about the lives of famous people (celebrities) who work in the entertainment industry. The author is interested in researching one of the programs on Metro TV, namely the entertainment program 'Showbiz'. The 'Showbi' program is the only entertainment program owned by Metro TV. Even though it is entertainment, Showbiz does not display gossip about artists, but rather shows the work and positive aspects. The purpose of this research is to find out how the Showbiz program production process works. Interestingly, this program was made by one main person, namely the producer. Even so, he was still assisted by another team in its development. The resource person consists of two people, namely the program producer and the presenter. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach method by collecting data through in-depth interviews and observation. The results of this research are an illustration of the Showbiz program production process, where currently only one person is working on it, but is able to produce work that is worth watching. Collaboration with teams outside the program is the key to success in summarizing the five segments that air every Sunday. Keywords: Television programs, Showbiz, entertainment, program production analysis Program televisi terbagi atas dua bagian yaitu program informasi (news) dan hiburan (entertainment). Program hiburan dapat diproduksi sendiri oleh stasiun televisi atau diproduksi oleh pihak lain, misalnya rumah produksi atau production house (PH). Program entertainment merupakan program informasi yang menyajikan berita kehidupan orang-orang terkenal (celebrities) yang bekerja pada industri hiburan. Penulis tertarik untuk meneliti salah satu program di Metro TV yaitu program entertainment ‘Showbiz’. Program ‘Showbiz’ merupakan satu-satunya program entertainment yang dimiliki Metro TV. Meskipun entertainment, Showbiz tidak menayangkan gossip sosok artis, melainkan menayangkan dari sisi karya dan hal positif. Tujuan dilakukan penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses produksi program Showbiz. Menariknya, program ini digarap oleh satu orang inti yakni produser. Meski begitu, ia tetap dibantu tim lain dalam penggarapannya. Narasumber berjumlah dua orang, yaitu produser program, dan Host. Penulisan ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Hasil penulisan ini adalah gambaran mengenai proses produksi program Showbiz, di mana sekarang ini digarap satu orang saja, namun mampu menghasilkan karya yang layak untuk ditonton pemirsa. Kerjasama dengan tim luar program, adalah kunci kesuksesan dalam merangkum lima segmen yang tayang setiap hari Minggu. Kata Kunci : Program televisi, Showbiz, entertainment, analisis produksi program
