Abstract

The Covid 19 vaccination program in Karawang Regency, West Java is facing cases of refusal by the elderly (elderly). They are worried about the effects of the vaccine, namely pain that will make them unable to carry out daily activities. The aim of this research is to determine the communication strategy of the Karawang District Health Service to the elderly The relevant theories used to support this research are the Cutlip and Center theory which has four steps, namely Fact Finding, Planning, Communication and Action, Evaluation of Communication Strategies. Public Relations and Socialization The research method used is a case study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The paradigm used in this research is the Postpositivism paradigm. The results of the research are that the Health Service took steps starting from fact finding, planning, implementation and evaluation. The identified problem that was found was that many elderly people were not willing to be vaccinated. Planning is carried out with a special approach in socialization or communication strategies using a door to door method. Implementation: Health Service officers visit elderly people's homes and talk heart to heart, so that they understand and are willing to be vaccinated. As a result of the evaluation, they have changed their mindset and are willing to vaccinate a total of 65% of the elderly population targeted at the Health Service Keywords: Communication Strategy, Socialization, Vaccination, Elderly in Karawang Program vaksinasi Covid 19 di Kabupaten Karawang, Jawa Barat menghadapi kasus penolakan para lanjut usia (Lansia). Mereka khawatir efek vaksin yakni rasa sakit yang membuat mereka tidak bisa beraktivitas dalam keseharian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui strategi komunikasi Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Karawang kepada Lansia Teori-teori relevan yang digunakan untuk mendukung penelitian ini, yakni teori Cutlip and Center yang memiliki empatl langkah, yaitu Fact Finding, Perencanaan, Komunikasi dan Aksi, Evaluasi Strategi Komunikasi. Public Relation, dan Sosialisasi Metode penelitian yang digunakan ini adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Paradigma yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah paradigma Postpositivisme. Hasil penelitian adalah Dinas Kesehatan melakukan Langkah mulai dari fact finding, perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Identifikasi masalah yang ditemukan adalah banyak usia lanjut yang tidak bersedia di vaksin. Perencanaan yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan khusus dalam sosialisasi atau strategi komunikasi dengan cara door to door. Pelaksanaan petugas Dinas Kesehatan mendatangi rumah-rumah masyarakat lansia dan berbicara dari hati ke hati, sehingga mereka memahami dan bersedia di vaksin. Hasil evaluasi, sudah merubah pola pikirnya dan bersedia melakukan vaksinasi dengan total jumlah 65% Masyarakat lansia dari sasaran di Dinas Kesehatan Kata kunci : Strategi Komunikasi, Sosialisasi, Vaksinasi, Lansia di Karawang
