Abstract

The rapid development of information technology creates new spaces for its users, one of which is the emergence of social media LinkedIn which can connect individuals to explore and share various activities that are completely different from what they do in real life. Through this research, researchers want to see how Public Relations students from the 2017 - 2018 class of Mercu Buana University, Jakarta, use LinkedIn social media to form their self-image with the aim of getting a good image from other users. The theories used in this research are dramaturgical theory, social construction of technology (scot), computer mediated communication, using a qualitative approach case study method. Based on the results of interviews conducted with the sources, researchers found that there was a difference between the front stage displayed on LinkedIn social media and the back stage of the sources.
