Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between alexithymia and depressiom on civil aviation’s pilot. Alexithymia is a condition in which a person can not verbaly describes their feelings or failure in cognitive processes and emotional regulation so that it cannot describe or identify what is felt. According to APA depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Subjects in this study were 86 pilots of civil aviation. This study used a quantitative approach. Sampling in this study uses Accidental Sampling with Pearson's Correlation Coefficient analysis method. The analysis test results produce a significant value of 0.000 with the acquisition of the correlation coefficient 0.517. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between Alexithymia and depression on pilots civil aviation Keyword : Alexithymia, depression, pilots, civil aviation Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara alexithymia dan depresi pada pilot pesawat sipil. Alexithymia adalah kondisi dimana seseorang mengalami defisit atau kegagalan dalam proses kognitif dan regulasi emosi sehingga tidak dapat mendeskripsikan atau mengidentifikasi apa yang dirasakan. Sedangkan depresi merupakan gangguan mental umum yang diawali oleh gejala kecemasan Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 86 orang pilot pesawat sipil sebuah maskapai penerbangan nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pengumpulan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan accidental sampling dengan metode analisis Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Hasil uji analisa menghasilkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 dengan perolehan nilai koefisen korelasi 0,517. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara alexithymia dan depresi pada pilot pesawat sipil. Kata kunci : Alexithymia, Depression, pilot, pesawat sipil.
