Abstract
The oil palm plantation industry is known as “green gold” which produces CPO as a leading export commodity but is also fraught with challenges, both from external factors and also internal factors, namely the high turnover of palm fruit harvesters. Although turnover is common and has a direct impact on the achievement of production and company income, but the turnover of harvesters has not been widely studied. This study focuses on harvesters' turnover, using qualitative descriptive methods, collecting data through pre-surveys, analyzing primary, secondary data and in-depth interviews with The informants and data validity methods were analyzed using triangulation. The results stated that there were five factors driving harvesters' turnover, namely dissatisfaction with public facilities, social institutions and welfare in terms of income and easy access to basic daily needs and relationships with superiors. Keywords: Oil palm plantations, Harvesters, Turnover, Job Dissatisfaction, public and social facilities and superior relations Industri perkebunan kelapa sawit dikenal dengan sebutan ‘emas hijau’ yang menghasilkan CPO sebagai komoditas eksport unggulan namun juga sarat dengan tantangan, baik dari faktor eksternal dan juga faktor internal perusahaan, yaitu tingginya pergantian (turnover) pemanen buah sawit. Meskipun turnover sudah umum terjadi dan memberikan dampak langsung terhadap pencapaian produksi dan pendapatan perusahaan, namun turnover pemanen belum banyak diteliti.Penelitian ini berfokus pada turnover pemanen, menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, pengumpulan data melalui pra survey, telaah data primer, sekunder dan wawancara mendalam terhadap informan dan metode keabsahan data dianalisis menggunakan triangulasi.Hasil penelitian menyatakan ada lima faktor pendorong turnover pemanen adalah ketidakpuasan atas fasilitas umum, sosial kelembagaan dan kesejahteraan dalam hal pendapatan serta kemudahan akses untuk memperoleh kebutuhan pokok sehari-hari serta hubungan dengan atasan.
