Abstract

Hijaiyah letters are letters used in the Holy Qur'an. Knowing these letters is mandatory for all Muslims, one of them in Indonesia. Children aged 5-6 years with a good stimulus from an early age will make it easier for them to recognize the letters. However, there are still some children who have difficulty distinguishing letters, especially those that have almost the same shape. In this case, the author is inspired to present educational media that can help children, teachers, or parents in supporting the introduction process. Showing hijaiyah letter shapes repeatedly to children is one way to make children remember letters more and more. One form of media that is safe for children is a circle. The circle has no sharp edges so it is harmless and supports the use of a rotating system in it. This educational media focuses on the letter repetition system, this will be applied to lightweight materials such as MDF wood and vinyl sticker layers, so that this media is lightweight and water repellent. Educational media was chosen because it is made as attractive as possible and can create a pleasant atmosphere for children and parents. Keyword: Hijaiyah Letters, Educational Media Huruf Hijaiyah adalah huruf yang digunakan dalam Kitab Suci Al-Qur’an. Mengenal huruf tersebut menjadi wajib bagi seluruh umat muslim salah satunya di Indonesia. Anak usia 5-6 tahun dengan stimulus yang baik sejak dini, akan mempermudahnya dalam proses mengenal huruf-huruf tersebut. Namun masih ada beberapa anak yang kesulitan dalam membedakan huruf, terutama yang memiliki bentuk yang hampir sama. Dalam hal ini, penulis terinspirasi untuk menghadirkan media edukasi yang dapat membantu anak, guru atau pun orang tua dalam menunjang proses pengenalan tersebut. Memperlihatkan bentuk huruf hijaiyah secara berulang kepada anak merupakan salah satu cara supaya anak semakin mengingat huruf. Salah satu bentuk media yang aman bagi anak adalah lingkaran. Lingkaran tidak memiliki tepian lancip sehingga tidak berbahaya serta mendukung penggunaan sistem memutar di dalamnya. Media edukasi ini terfokus pada pada sistem pengulangan huruf, hal ini akan diterapkan pada bahan ringan seperti kayu MDF dan lapisan stiker vynil, sehingga media ini ringan dan anti air. Media edukasi dipilih karena dibuat semenarik mungkin dan mampu menciptakan suasana yang menyenangkan bagi anak dan orang tua. Kata Kunci: Huruf Hijaiyah, Media Edukasi
