Abstract

Kurta is one of the clothes often worn by Muslim men because of its simple yet elegant design. This study aims to develop a kurta design by exploring the Bogor taro leaf motif as the main aesthetic element. The selection of the taro leaf motif is based on the philosophical value and representation of Bogor's local wisdom which is rich in biodiversity. The main material used is Toyobo cotton, which has the characteristics of being soft, cool, and comfortable to wear. The taro leaf motif is applied through embroidery techniques to create artistic and exclusive visual details. The design process includes motif exploration, pattern making, and embroidery application with colors that are in harmony with the kurta concept. As a result, this kurta not only provides comfort when worn, but also conveys high cultural values through local motif elements. This product is expected to be an innovation in the modern Muslim fashion industry while introducing the beauty of Bogor culture to a wider market. Kurta merupakan salah satu busana yang sering digunakan oleh pria muslim karena desainnya yang sederhana namun tetap elegan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan desain kurta dengan eksplorasi motif daun talas Bogor sebagai elemen estetika utama. Pemilihan motif daun talas dilatarbelakangi oleh nilai filosofi dan representasi kearifan lokal Bogor yang kaya akan keanekaragaman hayati. Bahan utama yang digunakan adalah katun Toyobo, yang memiliki karakteristik lembut, adem, dan nyaman digunakan. Motif daun talas diaplikasikan melalui teknik bordir untuk menciptakan detail visual yang artistik dan eksklusif. Proses desain mencakup eksplorasi motif, pembuatan pola, dan pengaplikasian bordir dengan warna yang selaras dengan konsep kurta. Hasilnya, kurta ini tidak hanya memberikan kenyamanan saat dikenakan, tetapi juga menyampaikan nilai budaya yang tinggi melalui elemen motif lokal. Produk ini diharapkan dapat menjadi inovasi dalam industri fesyen muslim modern sekaligus memperkenalkan keindahan budaya Bogor pada pasar yang lebih luas.
