Abstract
The Mercu Buana University Choir Student Activity Unit (UKM Paduan Suara) has an organizational climate shaped by various factors that influence the dynamics of the organization. This organizational climate also plays a role in forming group cohesion among members. Furthermore, the aim is to understand and analyze the organizational climate as a form of group cohesion among members of the Mercu Buana University Choir Organization for the 2023/2024 period.The literature review in this study includes five previous studies, including one international journal. The theoretical framework includes communication climate according to Forehand and Gilmers in 1964, as well as group cohesion according to Jewell and Siegel (in Dwityanto and Amalia). This study uses a constructivist paradigm and a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection through interviews with six informants consisting of 4 administrators and 2 members, observations, and documentation, as well as triangulation techniques for data validity. The results of the study show that the organizational climate in the Mercu Buana University Choir UKM is open, influenced by leadership, member behavior, and the group. Group cohesion is high, driven by closeness, interaction, shared interests, member needs, reciprocal relationships, and appreciation. The results of the study show that the Student Choir Organization (UKM Paduan Suara) at Universitas Mercu Buana has an open organizational climate with a fairly high level of cohesiveness. This is supported by several contributing factors, namely closeness, meeting frequency, and mutual support, which together foster the formation of a positive organizational climate and cohesiveness. Keywords: Organizational Communication, organizational climate, Group Cohesion, SME Choir UKM Paduan Suara memiliki iklim organisasi yang terbentuk dari berbagai faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi dinamika organisasi pada Paduan Suara Universitas Mercu Buana. Iklim organisasi ini juga berperan dalam membentuk kohesivitas kelompok antar anggota, selain itu juga bertujuan mengetahui dan menganalisis iklim organisasi sebagai bentuk kohesivitas kelompok anggota Organisasi Paduan Suara Universitas Mercu Buana periode 2023/2024. Tinjauan pustaka dalam penelitian ini mencakup lima penelitian terdahulu, termasuk satu jurnal internasional. Kajian teoritis meliputi iklim komunikasi menurut Forehand and Gilmers pada tahun 1964 dan juga kohesivitas kelompok menurut Jewell dan Siegel (dalam Dwityanto dan Amalia). Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara enam informan yang terdiri dari 4 pengurus dan 2 anggota, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta teknik triangulasi untuk keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan iklim organisasi di UKM Paduan Suara Universitas Mercu Buana bersifat terbuka, dipengaruhi oleh pemimpin, tingkah laku anggota, dan kelompok. Kohesivitas kelompok tinggi, didorong oleh kedekatan, interaksi, minat yang sama, kebutuhan anggota, hubungan timbal balik, dan apresiasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan UKM Paduan Suara Mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana memiliki iklim yang terbuka dengan kohesivitas yang cukup tinggi dengan di dukung oleh faktor faktor pendukung yaitu :kedekatan, intensitas bertemu, dukungan yang kemudian membentuk terciptanya iklim organisasi dan kohesivitas.
