Abstract
This research aims to develop women's clothing with Ratoh Jaroe motifs for women aged 20- 25 years. The research methods used include questionnaires, observation, and motif exploration. The questionnaire was used to find out the preferences and perceptions of the target market towards traditional motifs in modern fashion. Observation was conducted to study the application of Ratoh Jaroe motifs, while motif exploration aimed to adapt design elements with contemporary fashion trends. The result of this research is the development of an outerwear design using Ratoh Jaroe motif, designed for non-formal occasions. This design is expected to provide a modern and comfortable alternative for young women in casual activities but still has attractive characteristics. Keywords: Contemporary Motifs, Fashion Design, Motif Exploration Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan busana wanita dengan motif Ratoh Jaroe yang diperuntukkan bagi wanita usia 20-25 tahun. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi kuesioner, observasi, dan eksplorasi motif. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengetahui preferensi dan persepsi target pasar terhadap motif tradisional dalam busana modern. Observasi dilakukan untuk mempelajari penerapan motif Ratoh Jaroe, sedangkan eksplorasi motif bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi elemen desain dengan tren busana kontemporer. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pengembangan desain busana outer yang menggunakan motif Ratoh Jaroe, yang dirancang untuk acara non-formal. Desain ini diharapkan dapat memberikan alternatif busana yang modern dan nyaman bagi wanita muda dalam kegiatan santai namun tetap memiliki karakteristik yang menarik.
