Abstract
Technological advancements, especially the internet, have transformed how individuals interact and express themselves, also influencing the rise of negative behaviors like Cyberbullying . Cyberbullying , a form of psychological violence in the digital world, is often perceived as normal or entertaining by perpetrators. This study focuses on four types of humor styles: affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, and self-defeating, with particular emphasis on the role of Aggressive Humor in encouraging Cyberbullying . The research employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method, with sample selection through Non-Probability and Incidental Sampling (Accidental Sampling). The sample consists of 379 early adult respondents. The instruments used are the Humor Styles Questionnaire (HSQ) for the humor style variable and the Cyberbullying in Social Media Scale (CSMS) for the Cyberbullying behavior variable. This study aims to explore the relationship between humor styles and Cyberbullying behavior among early adults who use Instagram in DKI Jakarta. As a form of psychological violence in the digital realm, Cyberbullying can have significant negative impacts on victims, such as emotional disturbances and reduced self-esteem. These findings are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the factors influencing Cyberbullying and assist in developing more effective prevention strategies. Keywords:Humor styles, Cyberbullying behavior, early adulthood Kemajuan teknologi, terutama internet, telah mengubah cara individu berinteraksi dan mengekspresikan diri, yang juga mempengaruhi peningkatan perilaku negatif seperti Cyberbullying . Cyberbullying , sebagai bentuk kekerasan psikologis di dunia digital, seringkali dianggap biasa atau menyenangkan oleh pelaku. Penelitian ini fokus pada empat jenis gaya humor: affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive, dan self-defeating, dengan menyoroti peran humor agresif dalam mendorong Cyberbullying . Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan Non-Probability dengan Sampling Insidental (Accidental Sampling). Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 379 responden pada tahap dewasa awal. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala ukur humor styles questionnaire (HSQ) pada variabel gaya humor. Dan, Cyberbullying in Social Media Scale (CSMS) untuk variabel perilaku Cyberbullying . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara gaya humor dan perilaku Cyberbullying pada individu dewasa awal yang menggunakan media sosial Instagram di DKI Jakarta. Cyberbullying , sebagai bentuk kekerasan psikologis yang terjadi di ranah digital, dapat menyebabkan dampak negatif yang signifikan bagi korban, seperti gangguan emosional dan penurunan harga diri. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi Cyberbullying dan membantu dalam pengembangan strategi pencegahan yang lebih efektif.
