Abstract
A documentary film is a non-fiction film which represents reality in the form of recorded images as they are without any manipulation. Each scene is shot spontaneously and naturally, so it is difficult to manipulate. This documentary tells the story of how a scooter from Italy, vespa, can survive in urban society. Modernity, sophisticated tools, and love of all things modern, the Vespa is able to survive amidst the nature of urban culture. In the process of making a documentary film entitled "Vespa Pada Budaya Urban" there were three stages that the author went through, namely pre-production, production and post-production. In this applicable work the author acts as an editor who is responsible for editing the video. There are two stages in the process of editing a documentary film, namely offline and online editing. At the offline editing, the author combines the images in one folder and then arranges the images according to the script that has been designed. After that, the author does online editing, where this stage is the stage where the author adds effects and rhythm editing. Film dokumenter merupakan film non fiksi yang didalamnya merepresentasikan sebuah realita berupa rekaman gambar yang apa adanya tanpa rekayasa. Setiap adegan diambil dengan spontan dan bersifat alamiah, sehingga sulit untuk dimanipulasi. Pada film dokumenter ini menceritakan tentang bagaimana kendaraan sekuter asal Italia yaitu vespa dapat bertahan ditengah masyarakat kota. Modernitas, alat yang canggih, dan mencintai semua hal yang berbau modern, vespa mampu bertahan ditengah sifat budaya urban. Dalam proses pembuatan film dokumenter dengan judul “Vespa Pad Budaya Urban” terdapat tiga tahap yang penulis lalui, yaitu pra produksi, produksi, dan pasca produksi. Dalam karya aplikatif ini penulis berperan sebagai editor yang bertanggung jawab dalam menyunting video. Terdapat dua tahap dalam proses menyunting film dokumenter, yaitu editing offline dan online. Pada tahap editing offline penulis menggabungkan gambar dalam satu folder lalu menyusun gambar sesuai dengan naskah yang telah dirancang. Setelah itu, penulis melakukan editing online dimana tahap ini merupakan tahap penulis menambahkan efek serta rhythm editing.
