Abstract

The social campaign in the form of the short film "Separuh Buta" is designed to raise awareness about type 2 diabetes and its complications, especially diabetic retinopathy, among teenagers and young adults. Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels due to an unhealthy lifestyle, which can cause various serious complications including diabetic retinopathy. The increase in diabetes cases in children and adolescents shows the need for effective educational campaigns to prevent a spike in cases in the future. A short film with a vertical ratio of 9:16 was chosen as the medium for conveying the message because of its popularity on social media and its ability to convey the message concisely and effectively. This campaign aims to identify and visualize data regarding type 2 diabetes in educational audio-visual form. Apart from that, this campaign also aims to find out audio-visual techniques that are effective in making people aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The message in this film focuses on bad habits such as staying up late, consuming foods high in calories and sugar, and lack of exercise, which are associated with diabetes complications such as diabetic retinopathy. The visual approach used is a first person point of view, which depicts the visual experience of diabetic retinopathy sufferers to provide a deep impression and educate the audience about the dangers of an unhealthy lifestyle. The benefits of this design include providing learning materials for students, references for design science, providing educational content for Kartika Husada Hospital, as well as digital education for the general public. Distribution of works is carried out through partnerships with institutions such as Kartika Husada Hospital, using the AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) method. Through this campaign, it is hoped that people will be more aware of the dangers of type 2 diabetes and the importance of a healthy lifestyle to prevent serious complications. Kampanye sosial berbentuk film pendek "Separuh Buta" dirancang untuk meningkatkan kesadaran mengenai diabetes tipe 2 dan komplikasinya, khususnya retinopati diabetik, di kalangan remaja dan dewasa muda. Diabetes adalah penyakit kronis yang ditandai dengan kadar gula darah tinggi akibat pola hidup tidak sehat, yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai komplikasi serius termasuk retinopati diabetik. Peningkatan kasus diabetes pada anak dan remaja menunjukkan perlunya kampanye edukatif yang efektif untuk mencegah lonjakan kasus di masa depan. Film pendek dengan rasio vertikal 9:16 dipilih sebagai media penyampaian pesan karena popularitasnya di media sosial dan kemampuannya menyampaikan pesan secara padat dan efektif. Kampanye ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan memvisualisasikan data mengenai diabetes tipe 2 dalam bentuk audio-visual yang edukatif. Selain itu, kampanye ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui teknik audio-visual yang efektif dalam menyadarkan masyarakat akan pentingnya pola hidup sehat. Pesan dalam film ini berfokus pada kebiasaan buruk seperti begadang, konsumsi makanan tinggi kalori dan gula, serta kurang berolahraga, yang dikaitkan dengan komplikasi diabetes seperti retinopati diabetik. Pendekatan visual yang digunakan adalah sudut pandang orang pertama, yang menggambarkan pengalaman visual penderita retinopati diabetik untuk memberikan kesan mendalam dan mengedukasi audiens tentang bahaya gaya hidup tidak sehat. Manfaat dari perancangan ini meliputi penyediaan bahan pembelajaran bagi mahasiswa, referensi bagi ilmu desain, penyediaan konten edukatif bagi Rumah Sakit Kartika Husada, serta edukasi digital bagi masyarakat umum. Distribusi karya dilakukan melalui kemitraan dengan institusi seperti Rumah Sakit Kartika Husada, dengan menggunakan metode AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share). Melalui kampanye ini, diharapkan masyarakat lebih sadar akan bahaya diabetes tipe 2 dan pentingnya pola hidup sehat untuk mencegah komplikasi serius.
