Abstract

The development of technology affects the evolution of fashion, including Muslim fashion, that often has similar designs and patterns. This demands innovation from designers and industry, especially for women's Muslim fashion. Aside from complying with Sharia restrictions, Muslim clothing should be comfortable and fashionable for daily activities. Indonesia, with its diverse culture, provides design inspiration, such as from Sumba culture. This design aims to explore creativity and provide inspiration in creating comfortable and stylish women's tunic Muslim fashion. The method of design used refers to Design Thinking which consists of 5 stages. The design is focused on the comfort aspects to ensure that the product length is not too long and comfortable to be used in daily activities. Sumba's culture is applied through the creation of patterns inspired by the culture and geography of Sumba by using the stilation technique, which transforms the shape of the original object into a new shape to produce new patterns that will be compiled and printed onto the surface of the fabric. Sumba's cultural diversity can be a source of ideas in fashion design, especially women's tunic Muslim fashion. In the process of this design, the materials used should also be considered for the user's convenience while wearing this product. Keywords: Modest Fashion, Design Thinking, Culture Implementation, Sumba’s Culture, Stilation Technique Kemajuan teknologi mempengaruhi perkembangan fashion, termasuk busana muslim, yang kini sering kali memiliki kesamaan bentuk dan motif. Ini menuntut inovasi dari desainer dan pelaku bisnis, terutama untuk busana muslim perempuan. Selain mematuhi batasan syariat, busana muslim harus nyaman dan modis untuk kegiatan sehari-hari. Indonesia, dengan keanekaragaman budayanya, menyediakan inspirasi desain, salah satunya dari budaya Sumba. Perancangan ini bertujuan menggali kreativitas dan memberikan inspirasi dalam menciptakan busana muslim tunik perempuan yang nyaman dan stylish. Metode perancangan yang digunakan pada perancangan ini adalah Design Thinking yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan. Perancangan ini difokuskan kepada aspek kenyamanan sehingga ukuran panjang produk tidak terlalu panjang dan nyaman untuk digunakan pada kegiatan sehari-hari. Budaya Sumba diaplikasikan melalui pembuatan motif yang terinspirasi dari budaya dan geografis Sumba dengan menggunakan teknik stilasi, yaitu mengubah bentuk objek asli menjadi bentuk yang baru sehingga bisa menghasilkan motif baru yang akan disusun dan dicetak ke permukaan kain. Keanekaragaman budaya Sumba bisa menjadi sebuah sumber ide dalam perancangan busana, khususnya busana muslim tunik. Dalam proses perancangan ini, material yang digunakan juga harus diperhatikan demi kenyamanan pengguna saat memakai produk ini.
