Abstract
The documentary film ‘Jejak Kata, Literacy in Jakarta’ depicts the current state of literacy in Jakarta through visuals and audio. The production process involves three stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. In pre-production, the researcher determines the concept, conducts source research, and observes. Production includes capturing footage in Jakarta’s libraries and literacy communities, as well as conducting interviews. In post-production, the researcher serves as an editor, going through various steps like logging, paper editing, assembly editing, rough cut, fine cut, picture locking, mastering, and delivery. The continuity cutting editing method is used to select compelling images from each scene, ensuring that the audience understands the intended message of the documentary. Keywords: Documentary Film, Montage Technique, Word Traces, Literacy in the City of Jakarta Film dokumenter “Jejak Kata, Literasi Di Kota Jakarta” menggambarkan kondisi literasi di Jakarta melalui gambar-gambar dan audio visual. Proses pembuatannya melibatkan tiga tahap: pra-produksi, produksi, dan pasca-produksi. Dalam tahap praproduksi, peneliti menentukan ide, melakukan riset narasumber, dan observasi. Produksi melibatkan pengambilan gambar di perpustakaan kota Jakarta dan komunitas literasi serta wawancara. Setelah itu, dalam tahap pasca-produksi, peneliti berperan sebagai editor dan melakukan berbagai tahapan seperti Logging, Paper Edit, Assembly Edit, Rough Cut, Fine Cut, Picture Locked, Mastering, dan Delivery. Metode editing continuity cutting digunakan untuk memilih gambar yang baik dari setiap adegan, sehingga penonton dapat memahami pesan yang ingin disampaikan dalam film ini. Film dokumenter ini memiliki tujuan yang kuat untuk memperlihatkan pentingnya literasi di Jakarta dan bagaimana literasi dapat memengaruhi peradaban kota. Semoga film ini dapat memberikan inspirasi dan kesadaran lebih tentang pentingnya literasi bagi masyarakat. Kata Kunci : Film Dokumenter, Teknik Montase, Jejak kata, Literasi di Kota Jakarta
