Abstract

Personal image or self-image is an individual's perception of themselves or their thoughts about how others view them. This research aims to understand and analyze the responses of Generation 4.0 regarding the personal image of @Vinamuliana as a professional career content creator on TikTok. The researcher utilizes the theory of self-image formation factors according to Mappiare, which include physical condition, name or nickname, clothing and accessories, social interactions and development, abilities and knowledge, and attitude. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm. The research method employs Stuart Hall's reception analysis. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews with six informants. The results of this study show that Generation 4.0's interpretation of Vina Muliana's personal image varies. The informants are divided into three positions: dominant hegemonic, negotiation, and opposition. Some informants in the dominant hegemonic position interpret that the factors of name or nickname and attitude in the three content pieces support Vina Muliana's self-image. Other informants in the negotiation position give their own meaning based on their views and experiences on the factors of physical condition, social interactions and development, and abilities and knowledge. Meanwhile, there are informants in the opposition position regarding the self-image factors of clothing and accessories. Keywords: reception analysis, self-image, social media Citra personal atau citra diri adalah gambaran seseorang terhadap diri sendiri atau pikiran seseorang tentang pandangan orang lain terhadap dirinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis tentang tanggapan generasi 4.0 mengenai citra personal @Vinamuliana sebagai content creator karir profesional di Tiktok. Peneliti menggunakan teori faktor pembentukan citra diri menurut Mappiare yaitu; keadaan fisik, nama atau panggilan, pakaian dan perhiasan, pergaulan dan perkembangan sosial, kemampuan dan pengetahuan, serta sikap. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivis. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis resepsi Stuart Hall. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam dengan enam informan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pemaknaan generasi 4.0 mengenai citra personal Vina Muliana berbeda-beda. Informan terbagi menjadi tiga posisi yaitu hegemoni dominan, negosiasi, dan oposisi. Terdapat informan hegemoni dominan yang memberikan makna bahwa faktor nama atau panggilan, dan sikap dalam tiga konten tersebut dimaknai mendukung citra diri Vina Muliana. Terdapat pula informan dengan posisi negosiasi dalam memberi makna sendiri berdasarkan pandangan dan pengalaman mereka pada faktor pembentuk citra keadaan fisik, pergaulan dan perkembangan sosial, serta kemampuan dan pengetahuan. Dan terdapat informan dengan posisi oposisi pada faktor pembentukan citra pakaian dan perhiasan. Kata Kunci: analisis resepsi, citra diri, media sosial
