Abstract
The current Indonesian National Police image is on the brink of crisis, especially with the planned murder case involving Irjen Ferdy Sambo. Various media outlets, such as Antaranews.com and Kompas.com, have extensively covered this case. These two news portals have different ownership backgrounds. This research aims to determine the framing of news with framing published by Antaranews.com and Kompas.com in the period of August 24 - 26, 2022, related to the image of the Indonesian National Police during that period. This type of research is interpretive qualitative using Robert N Entman's framing analysis method. The results of this research, when viewed from the framing elements Define Problem, Kompas.com is more profound and analytical, while AntaraNews.com focuses more on individual news. On Kompas.com, it is elaborated Focus on internal Polri culture and internal reform, Critical, analytical, and contextual perspectives. Detailed and informative news. Meanwhile, on Antaranews.com, the focus is on individual issues of Ferdy Sambo. Diagnose Cause, AntaraNews focuses on individual issues such as money hoaxes and validation of KKEP by Sahroni. Kompas.com focuses more on deviant subcultures, culture, system, and ethical value awareness within Polri. Make Moral Judgement, AntaraNews focuses on the public and Polri, such as urging the public not to easily believe hoaxes and publishing Sambo's apology letter. For the Police, AntaraNews emphasizes case transparency. Kompas.com focuses on internal Polri reforms, such as uncovering the Silent Code culture, ethical codes, and organizational restructuring. Treatment Recommendation, Antaranews.com focuses on public validation of Polri's performance and Ferdy Sambo's rights. Kompas.com focuses on internal Polri culture, transparency, and finalization of the Sambo case. Antaranews.com denies hoaxes, shows Polri's commitment, and emphasizes the impact of the Sambo case. Kompas.com emphasizes the Silent Code culture, transparency, and Polri's firmness. Berbagai media banyak yang menyoroti kasus ini seperti Antaranews.com dan Kompas.com. Kedua media portal berita tersebut memiliki latar belakang kepemilikan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pembingkaian berita dengan framing yang dipublikasikan oleh Antaranews.com dan Kompas.com dalam periode berita 24 – 26 Agustus 2022 terkait citra Kepolisian Negera Republik Indonesia pada periode tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif interpretif dengan menggunakan metode Analisis framing Robert N Entman. Hasil dari penelitian ini jika dilihat dari elemen framing Define Problem, Kompas.com lebih mendalam dan analitis, sedangkan AntaraNews.com lebih fokus pada berita individual. Pada Kompas.com dijabarkan Fokus pada budaya internal Polri dan reformasi internal, Sudut pandang kritis, analitis, dan kontekstual. Berita detail serta informatif. Sementara pada Antaranews.com Fokus pada isu individual Ferdy Sambo. Diagnose Cause, AntaraNews fokus pada isu individual seperti hoaks uang dan validasi KKEP oleh Sahroni. Kompas.com lebih fokus pada subkultur menyimpang, budaya, sistem, dan kesadaran nilai etik di tubuh Polri. Make Moral Judgement, AntaraNews fokus pada publik dan Polri, seperti imbauan agar publik tidak mudah percaya hoaks dan publikasi surat permintaan maaf Sambo. Bagi Polri, AntaraNews menekankan transparansi kasus. Kompas.com fokus pada reformasi internal Polri, seperti membongkar budaya Kode Senyap, kode etik, dan restrukturisasi organisasi.
