Abstract
Religious pluralism is a reality that cannot be avoided in this life, including in Indonesia. Ironically, this diversity often becomes a source of conflict, even when married couples of different religions agree to marry while maintaining their respective religions. Even though in Indonesia it is still taboo or not commonplace and it is still difficult to carry out marriages between different religions, since 2005, based on ICRP data, there have been 1,425 couples from different religions who have married in this way. There are those who use an alternative solution model by entering a "pseudo-religion" from the religion of one of the partners, there are also those who falsify their identity, or marry abroad. Of course, these actions lead to many new consequences, especially after their child is born. It takes the ability to adapt communication behavior so that both parents and children can adapt to this religious pluralism. This is the background to this research, as well as the focus of this research, namely wanting to reveal and explain what and how channels for adapting children's communication behavior in families with parents of different religions, especially for millennial children in the city of DKI Jakarta, along with the obstacles. The reason for choosing the Millennial gene as the research subject is because, apart from this gene being a transition gene between the Baby Boomers gene and the Z gene, it is also because it is currently the most abundant and they have also entered the adult age range. While the selection of the city of DKI Jakarta as the research locus, because this research was conducted in DKI Jakarta. Apart from the limited study time and manpower, it is also due to efficiency reasons. In addition, it is not easy to get research informants. This qualitative research uses an intrinsic type of case study method, in a constructivist paradigm. The semi- structured in-depth interview technique was chosen as the main way to obtain data from informants. As a data analysis technique, source triangulation is used. There were six informants in this study, all of whom were raised in families with parents of different religions and were adults and working. The results are: first, the channels for adaptation of communication behavior for millennial generation children in families with parents of different religions in the city of Jakarta, namely: One, by praying and singing praises to God in regional languages before going to bed; Two, by way of worship with family at home; Three, by going to worship or praying at the house of worship; Four, by way of worship with family in houses of worship; Five, by learning from the Holy Bible; Six, by eating with family, both at breakfast and dinner; Seven, by way of giving goods as gifts; Eight, by way of family dialogue, both with parents and siblings; Nine, by studying religion with the comparative study method; Ten, by participating in celebrating religious holidays. Second, the obstacles that arise are: One, there are obstacles in the form of parental intervention; Two, there are obstacles due to parents' lack of attention; Three, there are obstacles due to never being given special worship lessons; Fourth, obstacles due to confusion in studying a holy book due to differences in religion and perspective; Five, language barriers; Six, Obstacles due to differences in how to pray; Seven, psychological barriers such as closing oneself; Eight, the obstacle is the difference in worship during religious holidays; and nine, obstacles due to loss of self-identity because they never studied religion from their childhood.
