Abstract
The mass media was enlivened by news about the candidates during the presidential and vice presidential 2019 election. The purpose of this research is to find online media Kompas.com and Rakyat Merdeka Online framing regarding the debates of the 2019 presidential and vice presidential candidates through their news. The research methods used framing analysis method with the Robert N. Entman framing model and using online news research subjects named Kompas.com and Rakyat Merdeka Online. The data collection technique was carried out by making observations in the form of news content about the 2019 presidential election debates on January 17 - April 14 2019 through Kompas.com and Rakyat Merdeka Online. In the framing analysis method, Robert N. Entman's model has 4 (four) important tables to dissect news, such as defining the problem, diagnosing the problem (estimating the problem or source of the problem), making moral decisions, recommending treatment (completion). Reporting on the 2019 Election Candidate and Cawapres Debate, on Kompas.com the author can draw conclusions about the news framing carried out by the online media Kompas.com regarding the 2019 presidential and vice-presidential candidate debates emphasizing the discussion of opinion narratives before the debate took place or those that have been going through political experts while Rakyat Merdeka Online formed a framing emphasizing the discussion of opinion narratives before the debate took place and after the debate also took place, but also emphasized the views of the resource persons on one of the candidate pairs for the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2019 election. Keywords: Framing Analysis, News, Online Media, Presidential Candidate Debates, 2019 Election Media masa diramaikan dengan pemberitaan perihal pasangan – pasangan calon Menjelang pemilihan umum calon presiden dan calon wakil presiden pada pemilu 2019. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pembingkaian (framing) media online Kompas.com dan Rakyat Merdeka Online mengenai debat calon presiden dan wakil presiden pemilu 2019 melalui pemberitaannya. Adapun pemilihan metode penelitian dengan metode analisis framing dengan model framing Robert N.Entman serta menggunakan subjek penelitian berita online yakni Kompas.com dan Rakyat Merdeka Online. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi berupa kumpulan isi berita tentang debat calon presiden pemilu 2019 pada tanggal 17 Januari – 14 April 2019 melalui Kompas.com dan Rakyat Merdeka Online. Dalam metode analisis framing model Robert.N.Entman memiliki 4 (empat) tabel penting untuk membedah suatu berita yaitu define problems (pendefinisian masalah), diagnose couses (memperkirakan masalah atau sumber masalah), make moral judgement (membuat keputusan moral), treatment recomendation (menekankan penyelesaian). Pemberitaan Debat Capres dan Cawapres Pemilu 2019, pada Kompas.com penulis dapat menarik kesimpulan pembingkaian berita (framing) yang dilakukan media online Kompas.com terkait debat calon presiden dan wakil presiden pemilu 2019 menekankan kepada pembahasan narasi opini sebelum debat berlangsung maupun yang sudah berlangsung melalui para pengamat sedangkan Rakyat Merdeka Online membentuk framing menekankan kepada pembahasan narasi opini sebelum debat berlangsung maupun sesudah debat berlangsung juga namun lebih menonjolkan pandangan narasumber terhadap salah satu pasangan calon kandidat debat calon presiden dan wakil presiden pemilu 2019.
