Abstract

New normal is a form of new habit due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Changing working conditions in the new normal era, such as an increased workload can affect employee's performance. Job Crafting can help workers adapt to the new work environment in the new normal era. This study aims to examine whether Career Competencies holds a mediator role between the Psychological Empowerment and Job Crafting on workers in new normal era. The research design of this study was carried by mediation using the Accidental Sampling Technique. The subject of this study are workers who work in Jakarta and using the Mediator Regression Technique PROCESS v3.5 by Hayes. This study has an important value due to the new normal phenomenon is considered to have an impact on the employee's performance. This study results show that Career Competencies holds a mediator role between the Psychological Empowerment and Job Crafting, this shows that the impact of Psychological Empowerment and Job Crafting will firstly be increased with Career Competencies. This study is expected as a reference for companies and employees, regarding the importance of understanding factors related to career development in order to improve employee performance and reduce workload. Keywords: Career Competencies, Psychological Empowerment, Job Crafting, New Normal, Workers. New normal adalah bentuk kebiasaan baru akibat pandemi Covid-19. Kondisi kerja yang berubah di era new normal, seperti beban kerja yang meningkat dapat mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan. Job Crafting dapat membantu pekerja beradaptasi dengan lingkungan kerja baru di era new normal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah Career Competencies memiliki peran sebagai mediator antara Psychological Empowerment dan Job Crafting pada pekerja di era new normal. Desain penelitian pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mediasi dengan menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pekerja yang bekerja di Jakarta dan menggunakan Teknik Regresi Mediator PROCESS v3.5 oleh Hayes. Kajian ini memiliki nilai penting karena fenomena new normal dianggap berdampak pada kinerja karyawan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Career Competencies memiliki peran sebagai mediator antara Psychological Empowerment dan Job Crafting, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak dari Psychological Empowerment dan Job Crafting akan semakin meningkat dengan adanya Career Competencies. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi perusahaan dan karyawan, mengenai pentingnya memahami faktor-faktor yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan karir dalam rangka meningkatkan kinerja karyawan dan mengurangi beban kerja.
