Abstract
This research discusses the intercultural communication between the Benteng Chinese community and the people of Tangerang city. These two groups have lived in harmony side by side without any significant conflicts. This research wants to find answers about how the process of intercultural communication between the Chinese Benteng community and the local community in building harmony, and the meaning of what cultural messages are able to strengthen the relationship between the two groups which, despite having different beliefs, traditions, and cultures, still exist. can be harmonious. In this case the researcher discusses the communication process and the meaning of cultural messages of the Benteng Chinese community such as the Peh Cun tradition. This study seeks to explain the communication process to understand intercultural communication, in this case the meaning of cultural messages in the Peh Cun tradition in the city of Tangerang. The results of this study provide information about the communication process and reveal the meaning of cultural messages that occur in the Peh Cun tradition in Tangerang City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with phenomenology, the researcher wants to explain the phenomenon of human behavior that is experienced in consciousness. Phenomenology is used to seek someone's understanding in constructing intersubjective meanings and concepts. In addition, in collecting data, researchers also used interview techniques. observation, and literature study that can be used to research and explain comprehensively the various aspects that explain the communication process between the Benteng Chinese Community and the Tangerang City Community. The results of this study provide information about the communication process and reveal the meaning of cultural messages that occur in the Peh Cun tradition in Tangerang City. Keywords: Intercultural Communication, Peh Cun Tradition, Benteng Chinese Riset ini membahas tentang komunikasi antar budaya antara masyarakat Cina Benteng dengan masyarakat Kota Tangerang. kelompok masyarakat ini hidup rukun berdampingan tanpa terdapatnya konflik berarti. Penelitian dibuat untuk mencari jawaban mengenai proses komunikasi antar budaya masyarakat Cina Benteng dengan masyarakat setempat dalam membangun kerukunan, serta makna pesan- pesan budaya apa saja yang sanggup menciptakan kerukunan antar dua kelompok tersebut walaupun mempunyai perbedaan dari sisi kepercayaan, tradisi, serta budaya tetapi senantiasa dapat hidup berdampingan. Dalam perihal ini periset membahas seputar proses komunikasi, serta makna pesan-pesan budaya masyarakat Cina Benteng seperti tradisi Peh Cun. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk menjelaskan proses komunikasi untuk memahami komunikasi antar budaya, dalam hal ini ialah makna pesan- pesan budaya dalam tradisi Peh Cun. Riset ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif serta fenomenologi dengan Paradigma konstruktivis, peneiliti ingin menyajikan fenomena sikap manusia yang dirasakan dengan kesadaran. Fenomenologi digunakan untuk menemukan penjelasan seseorang untuk menciptakan makna serta rancangan yang bersifatintersubyektif. Tidak hanya itu, dalam pengumpulan informasi periset juga memanfaatkan metode wawancara. observasi, serta riset kepustakaan yang berperan untuk membantu penelitian serta menjelaskan secara komprehensif mengenai berbagai perihal yang menjelaskan proses komunikasi masyarakat Cina Benteng dengan masyarakat kota Tangerang. Hasil riset ini membagikan informasi mengenai proses komunikasi antar budaya serta mengungkap makna pesan- pesan budaya yang berlangsung dalam tradisi Peh Cun di Kota Tangerang.
