Abstract
Title: Analysis of the Effect of Using Fly Ash in Concrete Mixture on Compressive Strength, Name: Faiz Arka Fajri, NIM: 41121110020, Thesis Supervisor: Ir. Pariatmono Sukamdo, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., 2022. Electricity is the energy needed in all human activities, ranging from industrial, household, transportation, and commercial sectors. Due to the high demand for electricity in Indonesia, especially in the industrial sector, the long-term electricity demand in Indonesia will require the construction of new power plants that are needed in the future. In constructing this steam-electric power station, much concrete will be used for structural work. This study aims to determine the effect of fly ash on concrete properties and the optimum value of fly ash in concrete mixtures. Several concrete properties that can be affected by fly ash are the slump value and compressive strength of concrete. The percentage of fly ash to be used is 0%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. Concrete compressive strength testing will be carried out at the age of 3 days, 7 days, and 28 days. From the slump value testing results, it is known that the higher the fly ash value was, the smaller the slump value produced. In addition to the slump value, the effect of fly ash is also seen in the compressive strength of concrete aged 28 days, with the highest compressive strength value of 40.40 MPa for concrete with 15% fly ash, and the lowest compressive strength value of 34.15 MPa for concrete without fly ash. Therefore, replacing some of the cement with fly ash of as much as 15% will obtain a strength increase of 34.7%. After reaching the optimum point of the concrete, the concrete will experience a decrease in strength. keywords: Concrete, Fly Ash, Slump, Compressive Strength of Concrete Listrik merupakan energi yang sangat dibutuhkan di semua kegiatan manusia mulai dari industri, rumah tangga, transportasi, dan komersial. Dikarenakan kebutuhan listrik di Indonesia yang sangat tinggi, terutama bidang industri maka kebutuhan listrik jangka panjang di Indonesia akan membutuhkan pembangunan pembangkit listrik baru yang dibutuhkan dimasa mendatang. Dalam pembangunan PLTU ini akan banyak menggunakan beton untuk pekerjaan strukturnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh abu terbang pada sifat – sifat beton dan nilai abu terbang optimum pada campuran beton. Beberapa sifat beton yang dapat dipengaruhi oleh abu terbang antara lain nilai slump dan kuat tekan beton. Persentase abu terbang yang akan digunakan adalah 0%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%. Pengujian kuat tekan beton akan dilakukan pada umur 3 hari, 7 hari, dan 28 hari. Dari hasil pengujian nilai slump diketahui bahwa semakin tinggi nilai abu terbang akan semakin kecil nilai slump yang dihasilkan. Selain nilai slump, pengaruh abu terbang juga terlihat pada kuat tekan beton umur 28 hari dengan nilai kuat tekan tertinggi sebesar 40,40 MPa pada beton dengan abu terbang 15% dan nilai kuat tekan terendah sebesar 34,15 MPa pada beton tanpa abu terbang. Sehingga penggantian sebagian semen dengan abu terbang sebanyak 15% akan mendapatkan penambahan kekuatan sebesar 34,7%. Setelah mencapai titik optimum beton tersebut, beton akan mengalami penurunan kekuatan. Kata Kunci: Beton, Abu Terbang, Slump, Kuat Tekan Beton.
