Abstract
Solo Puteri traditional clothing is clothing that has been worn by community groups for generations, and its characteristics reflect the local culture created by these traditional clothing. (Condronegoro, 1995:3) states that the traditional clothing used in royal ceremonies can be seen as a symbol of identity related to the rights and obligations of the wearer. Gesik (in Condronegoro, 1995:4) claims that oversized clothing is maintained to show dignity and excellence in use. This social inequality is not only present in Surakarta but also in the Victorian era. These 2 things are the background of the 2 traditional clothes which are full of modern nuances, preservation and innovation. Applying a modern concept is modifying the traditional Solo Putri wedding dress according to the design rendering by combining modern and traditional elements. This is done so that the traditional Solo Putri wedding dress is liked and worn by various groups of people, especially the middle class. In this design, the author uses the ATUMICS method. The ATUMICS theory is different from "preserving traditions means continuing to develop these traditions to suit current life". In other words, for a tradition to be sustainable, it must remain connected to all aspects of contemporary life; with modernity. In many cases, traditions that were static and no longer developed over time were gradually erased and died. The ATUMICS method deals with the fusion of tradition and modernity and creates new objects that retain a connection with changing traditions. Keywords: (Solo Puteri, Victoria, Atumics ) Busana adat Solo Puteri merupakan busana yang telah dipakai oleh kelompok masyarakat secara turun temurun, dan ciri khasnya mencerminkan budaya lokal yang diciptakan oleh busana adat tersebut. (Condronegoro, 1995:3) menyatakan bahwa pakaian adat yang digunakan dalam upacara kerajaan dapat dilihat sebagai lambang identitas yang berkaitan dengan hak dan kewajiban pemakainya. Gesik (dalam Condronegoro, 1995:4) klaim bahwa pakaian kebesaran dipertahankan untuk menunjukkan martabat dan keunggulan dalam penggunaan. Ketimpangan sosial ini tidak hanya hadir di Surakarta tetapi juga di era Victoria. 2 hal inilah yang melatar belakangi 2 pakaian adat yang sarat nuansa modern, pelestarian dan inovasi. Menerapkan konsep modern adalah memodifikasi busana pengantin adat Solo Putri sesuai dengan design rendering dengan memadukan unsur modern dan tradisional. Hal ini dilakukan agar busana pengantin adat Solo Putri disukai dan dikenakan oleh berbagai kalangan masyarakat, terutama kalangan menengah. Pada perancangan ini, penulis menggunakan metode ATUMICS. Teori ATUMICS berbeda dengan “melestarikan tradisi berarti terus mengembangkan tradisi tersebut agar sesuai dengan kehidupan saat ini”. Dengan kata lain, agar tradisi dapat berkelanjutan, ia harus tetap terhubung dengan semua aspek kehidupan kontemporer; dengan modernitas. Dalam banyak kasus, tradisi yang statis dan tidak lagi berkembang dari waktu ke waktu secara bertahap dihapus dan mati. Metode ATUMICS berurusan dengan perpaduan tradisi dan modernitas dan menciptakan objek baru yang tetap memiliki hubungan dengan tradisi yang berubah. Kata Kunci: (Solo Puteri, Victoria, Atumics)
