Abstract

Research conducted by dilator researchers is motivated by social phenomena which are currently often used as content, namely content about household life that is told and documented in a video and then uploaded to social media. This is considered a violation of privacy for some audiences. Currently, many Youtube users use YouTube as a source of life, or even to vent their hobbies. In this study, researchers examined the #temantapimenikah Youtube channel from one of the videos they uploaded regarding partner privacy. The purpose of this research is to find out how their subscribers receive the content uploaded by the #temantapimenikah Youtube channel from one part of the video. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with the Reception Analysis method proposed by Stuart Hall, by positioning the informants in the three positions, namely Hegemonic Dominant, Negotiation, and Opposition. In general, the results of this study can be concluded that the audience's interpretation of provacy content uploaded by the #temantapimenikah Youtube channel enters the Hegemonic Dominant position. The audience understands that household/privacy content is content that is reasonable to upload, as long as the video maker knows the boundaries that need to be disclosed to the public. Keywords: Communication, Privacy, Youtube. Penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dilator belakangi oleh fenomena sosial yang saat ini kerap dijadikan sebuah konten, yaitu konten mengenai kehidupan rumah tangga yang diceritakan dan didokumentasikan kedalam sebuah video lalu diunggah ke media sosial. Hal tersebut dinilai melanggar privacy bagi sebagian khalayak. Saat ini, banyak pengguna Youtube yang menggunakan Youtube sebagai sumber kehidupan, atau pun untuk melampiaskan hobi mereka. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti meneliti channel Youtube #temantapimenikah dari salah satu video yang mereka unggah mengenai privacy pasangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana resepsi subscriber mereka terhadap konten yang diunggah oleh channel Youtube #temantapimenikah dari salah satu bagian pada video tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Analisis Resepsi yang dikemukakan oleh Stuart Hall, dengan memposisikan informan ketiga posisi yaitu Hegemonic Dominant, Negosiasi, dan Oposisi. Hasil penelitian ini secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemaknaan khalayak terhadap konten provacy yang diunggah oleh channel Youtube #temantapimenikah masuk ke dalam posisi Hegemonic Dominant. Khalayak memaknai bahwa konten rumah tangga/privacy merupakan konten yang wajar untuk diunggah, asal pembuat video tersebut tahu batasan-batasan yang perlu diumbar ke publik. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi, Privacy, Youtube.
