Abstract
The coupling beam is a connecting beam between two coupled walls systems. This beam makes the sliding wall work as a unit in resisting earthquake forces. The beam makes the structure stiff and can dissipate energy. In international terms, coupling beams are known as coupling beam or spandrel beam. Because of the very high rigidity of the coupling beam, the shear wall behaves like two free cantilever. The beam joins the shear force from one wall to the other, resulting in large structural deformations. From the planning results, there are 2 types of diagonal and conventional coupling beam reinforcement, to facilitate the installation in the field, the coupling beam with diagonal reinforcement is modified so that it can be repeated conventionally. Keywords : coupling beam, spandrel, dual system Balok perangkai merupakan balok penghubung antara dua buah dinding geser berangkai (coupled walls system) . Balok ini membuat dinding geser berangkai bekerja sebagai sebuah unit dalam menahan gaya gempa. Balok perangkai membuat struktur menjadi kaku dan dapat mendisipasi energi. Dalam istilah internasional, balok perangkai dikenal dengan nama coupling beam atau spandrel beam. Karena kekakuan balok perangkai yang sangat tinggi, dinding geser berperilaku seperti dua buah kantilever bebas. Balok perangkai menyalurkan gaya geser dari satu dinding ke dinding lainnya sehingga mengakibatkan deformasi struktur yang besar. Dari hasil perencanaan didapat 2 jenis penulangan coupling beam yaitu diagonal dan konvensional, untuk memudahkan pemasangan di lapangan, coupling beam dengan tulangan diagonal dimodifikasi supaya bisa ditulangi konvensional.
