Abstract
The object of this research is one of Indonesian shipping company, who encountered performance problem in 2014. The problem itself might be caused by external and internal factors, which the workflow problem is one among the others. The purpose of this research is to solve the said problem by analyzing and measuring the workflow applied by the company by using BPM (business process mapping) and VSM (value stream mapping) technic. The method to be used is to do the analysis for the effectiveness, efficiency and the work quality along the workflow by using BPM and VSM, and to obtain the expert opinion for the relative comparison of the existing process to the suggested new process. The conclusion is the analyzing and measuring of the workflow can be done by using BPM and VSM. Further, be known that the present workflow applied by the company has not being effective, efficient and provide good work quality. Key word: BPM, VSM, workflow, shipping company
