Abstract
Banjarnegara district which is one of the districts in Central Java province has one potential commodity named Batik Gumelem. On known preliminary data that Small and Medium Industries (SMI) Batik Gumelem located in the territory of Susukan Kab. Banjarnegara still have a lot of problem that led to this batik has not been able to penetrate the national market even the international market. Problem on SMI Batik Gumelem is the Business Process of the industry is not yet able to support the achievement of the industry. This research aims to map the activity of the business processes in SMI Batik Gumelem Banjarnegara using value chain approach and make improvement on SMI Batik Gumelem Business Process. The result is by using value chain approach we know to make improvement action plan is the needed as sit together with entrepreneurs, governments and related stakeholder to make progress. Training needed by entrepreneurs is about marketing, finance and administration. All entrepreneurs need to improve the mechanisms of marketing, sales and service standards to service the consumers. Infrastructure assistance from the government such as shops / galleries or even online stores equipped with modern technology is needed to make batik Gumelem Banjarnegara better in the future.
