Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between emotional reactivity with the emotion regulation strategies on Twitter users. The research method use quantitative research, with sample of 235 active Twitter users who actively received and reply comments to their followers. The emotional reactivity is measured by Perth Emotional Reactivity Scale (PERS) and emotion regulation strategies was measured by Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) that has been transadapted. The results of the data analysis using descriptive statistics shows that positive emotional reactivity scores of Twitter users are average, the scores of both emotion regulation strategies are average. Also, the correlation analysis using Pearson Correlation analysis showed that negative reactivity is not related to reappraisal, but corallted to supression. And positive reactivity is corellated to emotion regulation strategies, both repression and suppression. Keywords: emotional reactivity, emotion regulation, twitter user.
