Abstract

The research was intended to found out if there is any relationship between emotional intelligence and juvinile delinquency in Public High School ‘X’ Tangerang. Subject inside this research are students in Public High School ‘X’ Tangerang which totaled 268 students, consists of female totaled 149 students and male totaled 119 students. Technique is used proportionate stratified random sampling. The isntrument in this research are Emotional Competencie Inventory (ECI) and juvenile delinquency scale. Data analysts is used Sperman's Rho technique and the research result r = -0,036 and p = 0,559 > 0,05 indicated that is no relationship emotional intelligence to juvenile delinquency. Keywords : Emotional Intelligence, Juvenile Delinquency Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan kecerdasan emosional dan perilaku kenakalan remaja di SMAN ‘X’ Tangerang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa di SMAN ‘X’ Tangerang yang berjumlah 268 siswa, terdiri dari perempuan berjumlah 149 siswa dan laki-laki berjumlah 119 siswa. Teknik yang digunakan adalah proportionate stratified random sampling. Alat ukur dalam penelitiaan ini adalah Emotional Competencie Inventory (ECI) dan skala perilaku kenakalan remaja. Analis data menggunakan teknik Sperman’s Rho dan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh r = -0,036 dan p = 0,559 > 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan kecerdasan emosional terhadap kenakalan remaja. Kata Kunci : Kecerdasan Emosional, Kenakalan Remaja
