Abstract

PT Nardevchem Kemindo is a company with main business in the distribution of raw materials for processed food and beverages industries. In its daily operations, PT Nardevchem Kemindo always has certain level of product inventory that isn’t sold until it exceeds its shelf-life period. This remaining inventory then normally will be recorded as waste. The problem studied in this research is that during the 2015 – 2019 period, the waste level occurs in the company’s data always exceeds the company's tolerance limit of 1% and always increases each year. The purpose of this research is to find out the root cause of the waste and to formulate the improvement recommendations for the company to minimize waste as the company's efforts towards Green Logistics. The methods used in this research is the DMAIC (define-measure-control-improve-control) concept, followed by the fishbone method to identify the root cause of the problem and the FMEA method to determine the dominant cause of waste, followed by the 5W+1H method to formulate proposed improvements for company. The result of this research is that the root cause of waste exceeds the company’s tolerance limit are lack of sales skill in forecasting, unstable warehouse temperature and inconsistency in incoming goods quality. Improvement recommendations for the company are the implementation of training for the sales team, installation of air conditioners and thermometers in the warehouse for goods storage and making SOPs for checking incoming goods at the receiving warehouse. Keywords: green logistic, waste, dmaic, fmea, fishbone PT Nardevchem Kemindo merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang penjualan bahan baku bagi industri pangan olahan. Selama keberlangsungan operasional PT Nardevchem Kemindo selalu ditemui sisa persediaan produk yang tidak dapat terjual hingga melewati batas masa hidup produk. Sisa persediaan yang tidak dapat terjual hingga melewati batas masa hidup produk tersebut kemudian didata sebagai waste yang dibuang. Masalah yang terjadi adalah bahwa selama periode 2015 – 2019 yang menjadi batasan penelitian, waste yang terjadi selalu melebihi batas toleransi perusahaan sebesar 1% dan meningkat setiap tahunnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui akar masalah penyebab waste dan merumuskan usulan perbaikan bagi perusahaan dalam rangka meminimalisasi waste sebagai upaya perusahaan menuju Green Logistic. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah konsep DMAIC (define-measure-control-improvecontrol), dibantu dengan metode fishbone untuk megidentifikasi akar penyebab masalah dan metode FMEA untuk mengetahui penyebab dominan waste, dilanjutkan dengan metode 5W+1H untuk merumuskan usulan perbaikan bagi perusahaan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa akar masalah waste melebihi batas toleransi perusahaan sebesar 1% adalah team sales kurang terampil forecast, suhu gudang tidak stabil dan inkonsistensi kualitas produk. Rekomendasi usulan perbaikan bagi perusahaan sebagai hasil penelitian adalah pelaksanaan pelatihan bagi team penjualan, instalasi AC (air conditioner) dan thermometer di gudang penyimpanan barang serta pembuatan SOP pemeriksaan barang masuk di gudang penerimaan.
