Abstract
Teachers of marginal children are certainly different from teachers of children in formal schools in general, teachers must have their own skills are self-taught in teaching marginal children. The marginal children's teacher who acts as a facilitator in the Plumpang learning center creates a professional attitude that is more patient, more understanding and of course more caring in front of his students so that the child wants to understand and understand the things that are communicated by the teacher. So, a teacher needs to do an impression management when managing the learning process. This is done by the teacher based on the formation of a self image (self image) first, meaning that a teacher is required to be as professional as possible so that he can be assessed positively in the eyes of children and people around the tutoring environment. This study aims to determine the management of impressions seen from the life of the front stage (front stage) and the back stage (back stage) of a marginal children's teacher. To answer the main problem, researchers use descriptive methods and impression management theory that can be interpreted as a problem solving procedure that is investigated by describing the state of the subject or object in the research can be people, institutions, communities and others who are now based on facts that looks or is This study uses a constructivist paradigm and descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques carried out by participant observation and supported by primary data obtained from key informants through in-depth interviews and documentation in the form of words. From the results of the study show that the teacher of marginal children to manage impressions while carrying out their duties as a marginal child teacher. Imaging management on the front stage (front stage) is dominant seen in aspects of style through how attitudes and behavior, language style or how to speak, facial expressions and message content. While on the back stage (back stage) the teacher informants returned to their respective lives and there was no management of excessive impressions in their original lives. Marginal Children’s Guru anak marjinal tentunya berbeda dengan guru anak – anak di sekolah formal pada umumnya, guru harus memiliki keterampilan sendiri secara otodidak dalam mengajar anak marjinal. Guru anak marjinal yang berperan sebagai fasilitator di bimbel Plumpang menciptakan sikap profesional yakni lebih sabar, lebih pengertian dan tentunya lebih mengayomi di hadapan anak didiknya agar anak tersebut mau mengerti dan memahami hal yang dikomunikasi oleh guru. Sehinga, seorang guru perlu melakukan impression management (pengelolaan kesan) ketika memulai proses belajar mengajar. Hal ini dilakukan oleh guru dengan didasarkan pada pembentukan self image (citra diri) terlebih dahulu, artinta seorang guru dituntut untuk bersikap seprofesional mungkin agar bisa dinilai positif dimata anak dan orang sekitar lingkungan bimbel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengelolaan kesan dilihat dari kehidupan panggung depan (front stage) dan panggung belakang (back stage) seorang guru anak marjinal. Untuk menjawab permasalahn pokok, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif dan teori impression management yang dapat diartikan dapat diartikan sebagai prosedur pemecahan masalah yang diselidiki dengan menggambarkan keadaan subjek atau objek dalam penelitian dapat berupa orang, lembaga, masyarakat dan yang lainnya yang pada saat sekarang berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang tampak atau apa adanya Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dan penelitian bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi partisipan dan didukung oleh data primer yang diperoleh dari key informan melalui wawancara mendalam dan dokumnetasi berupa kata – kata. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru anak marjinal melakukan pengelolaan kesan ketika sedang menjalankan tugasnya sebagai guru anak marjinal. Pengelolaan kesan pada panggung depan (front stage) dominan terlihat pada aspek gaya melalui bagaimana sikap dan perilaku, gaya bahasa atau cara bertutur, mimik wajah dan isi pesan. Sementara pada panggung belakang (back stage) para informan guru kembali pada kehidupannya masing – masing dan tidak ada pengelolaan kesan berlebihan di kehidupan aslinya.
